  The Two Trees - My Genesis Ponderings

  the purpose behind the article is to explore my own doubts and long-standing confusion over the genesis narrative - particularly the events surrounding adam and eve's expulsion from eden, and the "two trees" (namely the "tree of life" and the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad").. in my article i discuss my confusion over what the exact properties of the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad" may have been, and the fact that evidently by eating of the fruit adam and eve did not become sinful but more godlike.

  quiet one, I think thats going a bit far to ask postmen and leaflet distributors to wear badges - what I mean to say is that I don't think the gonvernment would consider that - especially as unlike JWs, I have not heard of any postmen or leaflet distributors abusing children.

  I think the concept of a petition is a good one, the wording will need to be carefully crafted and I think the scope need to be broader than just JW's.

  thank you cantleave. I agree that it would need to be worded carefully. But if we do get one done even if it itself does not go very far it may prompt more people to sign up for your petition re the charity commission.

  sizemik I would be intending to lobby in the UK as we do have this e-petition resource. I don't know if the US, australia, NZ does.

  I don't expect the WTS to spill the beans on pedophiles and I agree with you that they are never going to do so. I just want to work towards banning them from door to door activity. How the WTS implements this, if the e-petition is successful, is up to them.

  Meanwhile the e-petition regarding the charity commission can continue to go ahead. But I think it may be possible to get many more signatures if the public felt that they were being put at risk via pedophiles being told to focus on the evangelising work to take their minds off of their predilictions (without creating a panic of course).

  but the above is not necessary as I have my own evidence of a different nature.

  It sounds very simple to me to start an e-petition about this subject. but there may be hidden problems and I would be grateful if you guys could remind me of any problems and legal ramifications that could result.

  the first step is to ask if anyone has written in to the society requesting that pedophiles (both convicted and self confessed) should be banned from engaging in the door to door work? If they have - what was the reply and would you be prepared to share a copy of the reply?
