bboyneko..I really dont believe that any JW were accused by the Manager of a Hotel-in the things you wrote.I truly believe when we post lies about them it hurts those "seeking" the truth. Because as a JW for so long- I can tell you of wonderful things some of them did do- like any religion-they have good folks & bad. I do believe some do rotton things because they really werent convinced they had the "TROOF"so rebelled.I am free from the Borg now- but I have loved ones in it & I know they lead good clean lives- they dont relize they are under mind control. So lets not paint them all as evil. Please My kids are there.

The Annual ``Don't Misbehave'' at Asemblies'' KM
by Room 215 ingreetings from the ``here we go again'' department.
while worldlings have only the song of the robins and the bloom of the daffodils and crocuses as harbingers of spring, jehovah's people and readers of their literature can always count on two more: the annual ``don't partake!
'' article in the watchtower, and the yearly exhortation to ``make nice at the summer's assemblies'' in the km.. in the case of the latter, the tone and content of the annual scolding is unbelievably demeaning to any responsible adult... being told to dress nice (suits and ties only, please, for the men and deresses only -- not too short ladies) not to abuse complimentary breakfasts, pool privileges and generally avoid rowdiness at the hotels where they stay-- all laced with clearly fabricated -- not to mention unattributed-- quotes from ``worldly observers amazed by our fine conduct.''.

Since leaving the WT, are you a better person?
by roybatty inim not asking from someone elses standard but instead from your own.
obviously jws would view most of us here as the worst of the worst but how do you feel about yourself now that you have left the watchtower?
what changes have you noticed about yourself?

I am a much better person-I was always so self rightous-looked at priests, nuns homosexuels, ministers, pastors, etc:etc: as part of Babylon-I now have Homosexuels ,Priests,Minsters & Pastors as very good friends.I say what I believe -even if it dont fit in what others think-What is very rewarding to me-is how my Grandchildren & Great grandchildren come to me with their things they have done "wrong"??
Where as I now know my own kids wouldnt tell me what was bothering them- because they KNEW I would judge them-( Watchtower style)
These kids come to me with everything!!!!!They know I will help whatever the problem.WHATEVER!!!!!Because we ALL fall short at sometime or other.Since God examines hearts! I am greatful( although I wish I could send my time in to Brooklyn- I have more than Pioneer times)lol -

Prejudice
by Elders_Kid init would seem to me that an organization that preaches so strongly about brotherly love could be so prejudice.. i have been d/f for just about seven years, and it wasn't until a couple of years ago that this occured to me.
remember how we couldn't spend time with people from school because they were "bad association"?
or you werent supposed to spend too much time with "worldly" relatives because they might be a bad influence?.

Welcome to the board elderskid. They have conditional love- but Jesus has UNconditional love- dont matter what you have done ,did, will do he loves you-We just have to relize they are under mind control( just as we were)Have you read Crises of Conscience? If not I suggest you might like to. Also "Combatting Mind Control" These helped me- when I was kicked out- because I couldnt believe Jesus came invisably in 1914
I was baptized in 1965 kicked out in 1987 after over 20 yrs faithful service to the organization. Now I am free to use my brains- I have never been happier. maybe this site will help you

A VERY SPECIAL THANKYOU TO THIS BOARD!
by VioletAnai inthank you, thank you, thank you for making me see that i'm wasting my time being in a world of bitter, twisted, self-absorbed people and helping me to wake up to the benefits of being a jehovah's witness!
if any of you come back with the ol - the jw's are full of bitter, twisted, people (in the most stupid arse voice of course!
), i'll reply, yeah, but not as rampant as the rest of the world.....call me crazy if you like, i don't care, because it's my salvation i'm worried about not yours....you've thrown it away because you can't see the bigger picture....trials and tribulation will always abound in this day and age...it is proving like job that we are not discouraged by the trials that gains us the most happiness because we know the trials won't go on much longer and jah will repay us 100 fold for our pain....that's a damn good reward to me!

Do you blame your parents?
by sleepy indo you blame your parents for bringing you up as witnesses?.

Thank you - so many of you said you DONT blame the parents- You dont know how greatful I am to hear this-I brought my kids into it- one still there - one dead- but that is one thing I feel so guilty off- making them JWs- My son never became one- but it caused a riffed between us because I was always trying to "get him in" Thank God I was out when he died.He was glad also.

Reasons why we hate JW's (as an org)
by ashitaka inmy first reason is the fact that i was being controlled through the jw social structure, and having to fight to do anything....even whether to wear a tie or not.
the preoccupation with appearance was so debilitating; that was all i was ever concerned with.
and, as i'm not attractive, good in sports, or a conformist, i had very few friends.

Worf! we were not allowed to eat Baloney -It had to be WAX balony ( no blood in it- also some weiners were off limit- ( you said they didnt restrict food) Allso in our congregation we were told Dairy Queen ice cream had blood in it- i found out years later a brother had a fat wife- & didnt want her eating them so started the rumor- yep! I fell for it DAH!
