  JW Elder Responds to Dateline

  i sent out notices to many individuals stating that they should watch dateline and do some further investigation after watching it.

  here's one of the responses i received:.

  after watching the dateline show, there really is no need for any "investigation".

  Thank you for posting your story! If more people like yourself come forward and tell their stories, the more evidence active JWs will have that we aren't just evil apostates or disgruntled JWs. We are all individuals with a story to tell of men that destroy lives and families in the name of an Organization that equate themselves to God.

  Barbara Anderson Disfellowshipped

  as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.

  barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.

  home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

  upon arriving at the motel thursday night and trying to find other posters by their handles, we connected up with those already there.

  (do you know what funny looks you get when asking for peoples rooms on the basis of only their first name and where they are from?

  the clerks didnt understand about our jwd names.

  Being in attendance for this vigil was a life changing experience for me. It definitely made this issue more real for me and has made me more determined to speak up for changes.

  After meeting Holly and Heather Berry, I returned to the silentlambs website to read more about their story. I read the court hearing transcript and was completely taken back by how many active JWs came forth and spoke up for this horrible man. I cried when I read JWs defend this man and say they would even leave their own children with him. There were actually elders that defended him! It was heart-wrenching to read, especially after hearing the incredibly horrific things he had done to his own wife and children. But, there is some justice, Holly and Heather said they can now say "he is in prison now"!

  It was truly incredible to see so many people come together and support the victims and even more incredible to witness the courage that it took for ones to come forward and tell their own stories.

  Bobsgirl(Tema) was so brave and poised when she spoke. To come forth like she did, with so much to lose, was amazing! Her story touched another victim so much that this woman came forth and said "If she can do this, so can I".

  Hyghlander surprized us all, he was brilliant and spoke from the heart!

  Bill and Barb are both incredible people who are making a difference that will impact the lives of so many! To them...Thank you!

  It was also great to meet so many awesome people from this board! I will never forget any of you! I hope we stay in contact and definitely get together again soon.

  I will always remember the day when the lambs ROARED!...and I feel honored to have been a part of it!

  Our first birthday party!

  we've just got back from the whacky-warehouse playbarn / pub where we had liam's birthday party (5) with all of his class.. lot's of fun for all the kids, liam was bit overwhelmed with the attention but enjoyed it (esp.

  the presents that he's just been opening).. ah, it's great to be normal and see the kids joining in .

  btw: no righteous servants of the most high god jehovah were beheaded or otherwise harmed as part of this event.

  my jw mom calls me the next morning to tell me about it.

  I will see my JW mom today at my cousin's(who just so happens to be graduating from a Catholic school) graduation party.

  My mother has never passed up an opportunity to condemn the Catholic church. Infact, just a couple of weeks ago she was telling me that Bible prophesy was being fullfilled and that what was happening with the Catholic Church was the beginning of the Government turning on Religion.

  Do you think this will be a good time to tell her and my Catholic relatives about Dateline?

  Hi joy2befree! I take it you made it home alright. I hope everyone else did too.

  Could you also post the insert pictures. Our buddy "lizardsnot" had his picture in there, he was lighting the candles. He had to go home Friday night to attend his grandmothers funeral, so I am sure he hasn't seen it.
