well, i talk about my abuse so much i haven't found the need to post it.
i guess i will post it now so i can write it once and not have to keep writing it over and over again.
well, my eariliest memory is of being punished.
My father had this "great idea" to stop my sister and I from bitting our nails. He announced that every Friday he would check our nails for growth, and if he saw none than he would give us 5 licks with the leather belt. Every week he saw no growth it would increase 5 more. So, it went like this--one wk 5, next wk 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 36 was my final week. By this time he was pissed off it hadn't worked. Oh, forgot to mention I was 14 at the time and this was done with our pants and underwear off or down. I was FULLY developed by this point

oh hun... 3? I know of a few myself... oddly enough, quite a few, and yet, never heard fo any "worldly" kids committing suicide. I blame the JW's and a few other issues (JW related also) as to my own mother's suicide. Those other issues are directly JW related. I have zero respect for the religion itself.

Badger - When I started slipping out, my shrink told me that she saw a chronic problem with JW's. She told me it was a cult... long story short, she made it clear that the religion was looked on very poorly by those in the mental health field. I can see why now. And at the tiime, I didn't know if I believed her or not... Sadly, I think depression and mood swings or otehr mental issues will be something many of us will suffer from for many years, perhaps even until we grow old and die.

I think depression is going around. I think exjw's are the most screwed up bunch of people I have ever seen in my entire life. We are raised in these little glass houses not allowed to have emotions not allowed to feel not allowed to speak, then that house breaks, and we suddenly are allowed to feel. So where do these emotions go? Where do we turn? We come here for support because... well, we udnerstand the common ground, we understand what the others here are feeling. I seriously wonder how long it takes to heal. I hate religion, I hate it.
