  im about to disassociate myself, and would like to know from those who have been disassociated , is there anything you would have done different before you disassociated yourself?

  do you recommend writing a letter?

  i really don't want to write a letter, cause that is what they want you to do, and they will never give you anything in writing.

  Personally, I would do it in a letter. I myself have drifted away so as not to cause any bad riffs between me and my parents or bring disgrace on the family name. Part of me would LOVE to DA myself, but my parents are well along in years and in poor health. If I were to DA myself, I would have to sever my ties with them and they won't live forever, no matter what they may think. So, I choose not to at this point in time.

  If this is not an issue with you, I would do it in a nice letter, explain why as well - your last chance to get in the last word. Note also that you will not accept being called on, talked to or bothered EVER by another JW unless you initiate contact first. You can have the letter notarized and sent via certified mail, UPS or FedEx. This is what I would do and my advice to you. Hope this has helped.

  i know that the dub's view is that it is totally wrong.

  i live in an area where the majority of people think it is wrong.

  i don't think it is wrong (but i am not a homosexual).

  Trying to make "logic" out of homosexuality is a farce.

  It is not like they wake up one day and logically come to a very mental conclusion that they are gay/lesbian. It is something in their heart, the way they feel INSIDE. You cannot always make logic out of matters of the heart.

  The Coming Suicides

  i continue to predict that there will be an increase of suicides.

  and other tragedies related to the huge amount of mental and.

  emotional illness among jw's.. the scary place to watch will be japan.

  I feel you are very correct in your assumptions, but I feel it necessary to note something.

  Suicides may perhaps be encouraged by economic circumstances, but much of suicides related to Jehovah Witness youths is actually based upon feeling of inadequacy and guilt for not living up to standards or fear of being publicly shamed. Public shaming/shunning can relate a highly upsetting state of emotional turmoil. Then to boot, you have to make a go of it alone. The whole disgracing a person's character and announcing their name to everybody is enough, let alone cutting them off from civilization to make them feel like a diseased animal that nobody wants near them is even more.

  Disfellowshipping was the root of my doubts of the WT in general. It sickens me and I wish, honestly wish, their were rules against this sort of thing put in place in a political sense. How is this love? I feel something NEEDS to be done about this. It is not morally sound.

  I am with LB. If he is old, he is tired. If he is tired, why make him go through all of the trouble? Getting out of the car in any weather, standing there -- while you give him false hopes. Not nice or fair.

  In my opinion it is not very nice to "play" with the poor guy. You won't change him, been in too long. You can never help the older ones. Leave the poor thing alone, unless he brings a younger fellow... that is a different story then.

  You know, many of us still have the old JW mentality mindset. It goes like this:

  "Fresh blood ATTACK ATTACK LET'S FORCE THEM TO SEE THINGS OUR WAY!"

  In my opinion, raise a few points, make a statement and move on. No arguments, not worth it. Arguments will only make them stick to their guns anyhow. Raise a few points, seeds of doubt then move on. You can catch more flies with honey...

  Got My Invite Today

  well i finally go my invitation to the ritual today.

  i didn't know either of them but they had a nice smile and were dressed in the proper attire.

  the invitation was a little less quality than usual, and said, "printed in the usa".

  As far as getting all dressed up, it is because it is the only holiday JW's are allowed to celebrate.

  Morbidly sick, isn't it. Only holiday and revolves around death. Let's go by classy new clothes and look super sharp to celebrate.
