Maybe they are completely oblivious. I have an older male JW relative who has to be told to zip his pants up every single time he comes out of the bathroom-no kidding-he also misplaces his glasses, pens, keys and so on. He always has to be reminded to put the garbage out, he has been living in the same home for 18 years and has had the same garbage day for that same length of time. literally hundreds of times the garbage has been taken to the curb, and he needs reminded. He never remembers anything. He is completely oblivious to things, yet can do difficult math problems and is really good at drawing and figuring out how to make things work.

Love Thy Neighbor? Not my JW neighbors.
by jws ini live next to jw neighbors.
i was a jw 1000 miles away over 20 years ago, never here.
as far as i know, nobody here knows i once was, including the neighbors.. so there wouldn't be any reason for them to shun me.

Talked to Phone Witnessing JWs
by jamiebowers ini usually can't hear someone knocking on the door of our enclosed porch, so i haven't spoken to a jw in person in the ten years that we've been at this house.
and being that the temperatures are currently very cold in northeast ohio, i suppose the jws are doing telephone witnessing.
so, today i had the opportunity to talk to two real live jws.

It is wonderfully cold and clear outside. The sun light is glistening on the snow. When you step outside the snow squeeks and squiggs underfoot. Birds flutter to and fro the birdfeeders. A fire snaps jauntily in the fireplace, my tea is hot, and I am surrounded by pets lounging on the rug. A perfect winter day.

So, sidetracking a little from the original thread, to DATA-DOG's comment about the Messiah, why couldn't the Messiah have come from another of David's sons? Why did the linet have to be from Bathsheba through Solomon? Why not from Abigail or one of his other numerous wives?

33 %
by Theredeemer inso, my mother in law who is still active went out in service with the group that had the co visit and came back with some very interesting news.
first off, she knows that we are fading and is ok with it and has some doubts herself.
anyhow, she said that the co went off track during the meeting before service and mentioned how we are now allowed to receive up to 33% of blood in a transfusion.

Interesting indeed! The number 3 is used for emphasis. A double 3 for double emphasis? "You may take this much, and no more, 33%!"

Thanks for the heads up on the actual study blondie, I obviously misread the date! But, I still glean points from each and every review you do, and my kids really do see the discrepancies with the reasoning. The past week was hectic, several sets of out of town guests and then my little one getting sick, so I missed the opportunity to speak to the kids about this study. We have a lot of critical thinking/logic sessions and the kids really enjoy them.

Thanks again blondie. As I type this, my hubby is shoving this crap down my kids throats. He sequestered the older two while I was putting the very sick little one down to bed, and is 'studying' this for tomorrow. I love the insights you give, it helps me with the critical thinking I do with them on Mondays, when Dad is at work. I ask them questions about some of the things in the Watchtower, give them alternate views, ask them if they are general statements or statements without proofs or whatever, and blondie, your comments often help me.

Hey, remember what I told you on the phone, try to get out and volunteer helping others who are worse off than you. Helping people can make you feel really good. You are from a particularly needy family, but really, you have everything it takes to be a complete person yourself, you are intelligent, attractive, love animals. You like to cook, you love you son. You are worth so very muc h...and you make a mean chicken papriksh.
