I live in small town Pennsylvania. People hold doors for you, say thank you, wave a greeting when you drive down the road. Most people are really nice, with the occasional ass thrown in for good measure.

We have a serious drought in the West
by designs insatellite pictures show lake powell and lake mead at half their water levels and dropping.. 14 years of drought conditions have done a number on the lakes which hundreds of cities and millions of people rely on for water and power.. http://www.livescience.com/44174-iimages-colorado-river-view.html.

It is really sad. Flying over Lake Mead in March it was startling to see it so low.

The List, by "Prominent Bethelite"
by morloc ini occasionally pop through here to catch up on the latest, but this time i'm going to pop my own post on here.. some of you internet oldsters may even remember this.
my first experience on the internet regarding discussions about jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower took place on a now-obscure usenet group, before i eventually stumbled across hourglass2.. during those days, there was a poster who went by the name "prominent bethelite," an otherwise anonymous individual whom i remember most for an extensive, exhaustive compilation of date-oriented remarks, predictions, and expectations by the watchtower organization down through the decades of its history.. it became known as "the list" and it's definitely lengthy... but a fascination look at the abundance of errant statements made through the watchtower's history.. if you're curious, it's been available for a long time on hourglass2's site, and can be seen using the link provided below.. the list, compiled by prominent bethelite (1999).
that's about it for this stop through here.

Convicted paedophile allowed to grill his victims at Jehovah's Witness meeting
by Sapphy inhttp://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/convicted-paedophile-jonathan-rose-grilled-7151197.
oh my goodness, i'm so angry i can't even speak!
"women who complained that former jehovahs witness elder jonathan rose, 40, had molested them as children relived their nightmares in front of him after he was released from jail".

Perhaps the reason the women went back to testify to the elders was because they learned this Rose guy wasn't disfellowshipped and he should have been. To protect the other children in that KH from becoming victims due to the 'don't ask don't tell' policy the WTBTS seems to require. If that was the womens lesson, I applaud their courage and self lessness.

My Successful Fade

Darth-Your account is moving, honest and I can relate to much of it, not the parts about being a elder, of course. But, the hoping that you would die so you wouldn't be stuck with your wife, the feelings of guilt for taking comfort where you could find it, the quest for answers to things that made no sense.
I divorced the 'brother' that caused me to wish for death rather than life eternal with someone so awful. Learned that feeling guilty for happiness is ridiculous and faced the questions I've had for years, squarely and realized the standard WTBTS answers don't add up.
Thank you for you eloquent story.
