While trying to think of a user name that meant something, I glanced at my red painted toe nails, so, having a moment of brain block, I just went with it. Stupid, I know.

It is a wonderful thing not to be stuck going out in field service. Always hated it. Always felt those who said they LOVED it were liars.

I'm curious what is being said about all the news articles at the various Bethels and especially in NYC. It must have surprised the crap out of them to see anyone complain/protest to the media and get all this publicity.

do you think is one of the unhealthy teachings among the wt?
i mean humans has been created with emotional and physical needs that relationships provide, right?.
I think they encourage singleness for several reasons 1) there are not enough eligible (word used very loosely here) brothers for the huge number of single sisters to marry-so WTBTS encourages them to remain single rather than marry a nice 'worldly' guy. 2) If what few brothers there are remain single, then they won't have their own families, homes, and lives to interfere with full time devotion to the WTBTS.

Funny! My toddler enjoyed it too, and wanted Daddy, Sister & Brother to watch it too. But, I had to tell the child it was only for us. (The others are at the KH right now).

since leaving the organization 8 years ago, there have been more significant changes in the actual, physical activities of the organization than occurred in all the 40 plus years i was 'in'.
bethel closings.
bethel layoffs.
No, not with the general world feeling of malaise, all the media talk of global warming with its inherent concerns such the world's forests dying off because of global climate changes, the financial mess the entire globe is experiencing, famines, terrorism, families falling apart. Plus many people feeling 'entitled' in wealthier nations causing huge strains on the working class, developed world obesity problems. AIDS, resurregence of polio and other preventable diseases. The recent proclaimation by the Harry Campings of the the world, the end of the Mayan calendar thought by many to mean the end of the world. In general, people are looking for some reason for hope and WTBTS holds out living forever in perfect health and body on a perfect planet where you can have your very own kangaroo and pester Noah by telling him how long you pioneered. Some people turn to drugs to deal with things, some to religion, some who left the Borg are terrified by what they see and return. (Sorry for any ramblings and english errors-I just took an ambien before I started this post.)

this weekend at our special assembly day, let gods will take place the final talk was a head shaker.... the bethel speaker was quite entertaining when he joked @ the shortcomings of the elders.
he also made us laugh with the comment "we were told the end of the system is right around the corner, but we've found its been more than that, we've been around the blocks a few times.
" he told the young ones to make the truth their own by researching in the wtbts publication (only).
Double speak at its finest.
