  Thor answered my prayer

  where i live in the usa we are experiencing record breaking drought and heat.

  over a month with no rain and 27 consecutive days with heat above 90. forcast calls for tripple digit heat for the next 7 days.. last night i broke down an prayed to thor, this morning he answered my prayer as i heard thunder at 5am and woke up to see rain.

  only 1/10 of an inch, but rain that was not in the forcast.. is this not proof that thor is a true god?.

  It rained here too, unexpectedly. It was Wodin day. Then on Thor's day, it rained again. Long live the Norsemen (and women)!

  Are you TRAPPED by your believing mate into a hellish life of "pretend"?

  the scene is familiar.. a jehovah's witness family with one member who has awakened from the lie.. the split comes down to an interesting wrong terminology:.

  unbelieving mate vs believing mate.. .

  the context of the entire family is as a jehovah's witness family.. damage has already been done.

  I talked to one of my kids a little while ago. We talked about the new sex abuse cases Barb Anderson just informed us about. I asked if it seem proper that JW's would hide these things from people. My child was vehement that this was wrong. I talked to the child about Sparlock, and how JW's act like playing with a toy is so much worse than a child molester is. My child thought it was ridiculous that Sparlock would be so much worse than a child molester is to the WTBTS. We also talked about the violence in nature, the way spiders wrap up their prey and suck there blood out over a period of days. My child asked if maybe all this occured because of Adam and Eve's sin. I reminder my child of our recent visit to a wonderful dinosaur exhibit, and how we learned they ate each other, and they lived long before Adam/Eve did. My child said, "Oh yeah, that's right, it couldn't have been Adam & Eve then."

  I'm trying to implement the courage mentioned by Terry, thank you, by the way!

  a 25 year old relative of mine was being stalked last week by an older woman.

  the police were involved and the perpetrator arrested.. as it was the convention and his uber zealous, hypocritical mother- aka my sister, was going to be absent from home i called to see how he was doing.

  in the course of the conversation i referred to 50 shades of grey' (the stalker had fantasised about him being mr grey).

  Perhaps your nephew just told his mom you called, and she queried him. He may have off-handly refered to what you talked about. She may have then demanded more info, as only mothers know how to do. Most men can't handle harassment by their mother, and cave in easily, just to be left alone. Your sister JUST got back from the convention, she was being hyper-vigilant due to just having been indoctrinated for days. Give her a month, she will not be so ridiculous.

  Terry-Have you been reading my mind again? I am stuck with an unthinker and do hide my web viewing, and have refrained from talking to my kids, like a coward. You have made me realize that I am a WEINIE!

  I have been trying to frame out a way to talk to my kids...something more neutral...this has been the weinie way out. I will definitely be doing more critical thinking exercises with my family.

  The pledging of allegiance line was great by the way, and so very true, yet everyone at the KH would be shocked to hear such a line.

  I am NOT GUILTY, so I will not act that way anymore!

  Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses is NOT the same as the doctrines leaving you

  if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

  for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

  why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

  Did you pick-up many people for the meetings??

  i was a regular taxi for alot of people.. we (wife & family) pick up one sister and her 2 children for many years ...he husband had walked out on her and we did'nt mind.. however when we were asked by the cobe wife to pick up and elderly and infermed bro a 3 day assembly (we had 3 young children) i said no.. we pased her and her daughter traviling alone to the assembly.. .

  As a child, we dragged people to and from the hall and assemblies. It wasn't a big deal at the time. My parents are now in their 70's, and they are still picking people up, my mom gets annoyed that they seem to be the only ones asked to do the ferrying around. They also get stuck dragging people back and forth to doctor appointments and hospitals in the 'big city'. They have to sit there, literally sometimes all day, as the person gets this test done and that test done. They do live an area where there is senior busing. I don't know if they have ever made that suggestion to these people or not.

  No one should have to give a ride to people who are incontinent and not able to care for their own hygiene. That is just gross and extremely unsanitary. If the incontinent person was able to use a diaper product and not leak all over everything, then that changes things.

  I told my daughter I was leaving "the truth" this weekend.

  last week, i told you i was going to tell my daughter that i was leaving the truth this weekend and you all gave me sound advice.

  but, i cannot keep a secret this heavy from the person i love most on this earth, my only daughter, who is beautiful inside and out.. well, i have always had an open and honest relationship with my daughter, and i guess it paid off.

  this weekend i visited my daughter (who lives in another state) and i told her i was leaving "the truth.

  Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"

  in the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.

  this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".

  sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

  In many countries, an adult has the right to refuse any medical treatment he/she see fit, it is the patient's choice. The USA even has patients rights, that cannot be violated. It would be nice if the Borg issued 'rank and file' rights so everyone would know exactly what they were dealing with, including 'the right to refuse treatment by the elders and be left alone'.
