  I am officially sick of hearing the WBT$'s brand name for god = Jehovah!

  it's that simple.

  i'm sick up to here (guestures to above head), of hearing the dubs trot out their brand name for their imaginary sky friend who is so loving they're petrified he'll murder them soon!!!!!.

  the other week i heard a conversation between 2 dubs that ended with the cliche: 'jehovah will sort it out!

  browsing through one of her books i came across a chapter freedom of association.

  it covers the well known categories, colour, race, religion, sexuality etc.

  Oh I just had a though...why not get big media involved?... The BBC aren't christian anymore and some TV journalists might make an issue of it? I am not an ex JW so impossible to do this.

  I am not an ex JW but disike the WT organisation intensely. I am also in the UK. I have been thinking about this issue since first reading it in a pulication my wife gets. It is very hateful and also cribs on about other religions being false teachers etc etc. You know that the WT will firstly say that the devil is influencing you. I have been told it too many times now it is untrue. My wife has fallen for it hook line and sinker.

  Some other issues which bother me.

  1. Homophobia is promoted in the WT group. Why has this issue not been tackled legally on an international level?

  2. The WT policies on blood are detrimental to children and the hospitals are ensuring that children are not effected by this policy in the UK. They accuse the blood services of supplying contaminated blood to patient. This is a slander on the Blood Collection Authorities and the NHS itself.

  3.This specific apostate hate issue is not just contained to ex JWs is it?. the notion Apostate refers to other religious and secular groups and material including literature.

  I am now looking for an article in the on line guardian to find out who the journalist was. A pastor Stahl was reported to want to gather a list of atheist in the USA so they could be put on a register along with sex offenders. I would like to see if the journalist will follow up this particular story/.

  The Best of luck with the police. I know we have a hate crime unit in the UK which is much more effective than other sections of the force. We went through something a while back with our neighbours.

  The JWs liked the name JEHOVAH so much they incerted it into their own little bible 270 time more than it should be!!!! lol Elohim. the Lord, el. YHWY...blah blah blah!

  I saw a sad sight yesterday.

  i was strolling up our high street, trying to avoid the sally army chuggers, when coming towards me was an elderly lady, she suddenly approached a young lady and offered her a tract, the girl refused.. the old dear was weirdly dressed in very old-fashioned clothes that still screamed "pioneer",they can't have been exactly fashinable when they were new, she must have been in her seventies, but was weird looking, not helped by bright orange hair and very red lipstick, i checked, and she was holding the tract "you can trust the bible" (oh yea??).

  i have not seen anyone doing street work for ages in our town, even she was not that dedicated, she dodged in to a charity shop and had a look at what was on offer,still counting her time i guess.. i thought of engagng her in conversation, but then i thought no, better to leave her in the cult, she will do more harm reinforcing the impression that jw's are a bunch of weirdos by her desultory street work than she would if she woke up and left the dubs.. years ago we used to get a bunch of young people together and we would all go in street work, and to the markets etc.

  we used to make it fun, as much as we could.. now all they have as the public face of the jw's is a sad, weird old lady.. i think we shall see this more and more, the glory days are gone for the wt.. good..

  We have two old dears come around the industrial estate I worked on handing out the Awake booklet. I did do feel sorry for them but always refuse to discuss anything with them. It wasn't until my beloved got snared by the cult that I actually met Ruth ( the one and the same old girl who came around to our workplace). Ruth I now call her "the rat catcher" since finding out her little JW technique for discussing anything and she lays traps ( red herrrings) for the opposer to walk into. She'll be forthright and persistant with that attitude that she would convince anyone the god is the one...didn't work on me however.

  Religions are dying especially here in the UK.. Couldn't the ol' girls find something better to do like fund raise for sdtarving africans? A lot more practical and useful I'd say!!

  thanks to those who gave some expert and wonderful advice about this earlier.... i am opposed to the jws message.

  i wonder some times if i just agreed to everything all will be okay.

  Right, I have now personally experienced the influenced by Satan excuse. It is a pathetic and sorry reply to say the least!

  Satan will stop at nothing to get people to not join the JWs.... I wonder if satan is really bothered to be honest as the WT are doing a good job in misleading it's faithful to say the least. I bet ol'nick has a chuckle every time a JW struggles with life and refuses blood on the operating table or if faced with a life or death situation.....nothing more emotionally testing... this sorry practice could only be dreamt up by some one mentally ill.

  Now the tide has turned, I am the one putting fingers in the ears and saying LA LA LA but only doing it to mimic the reaction. I am surprised how quickly she has learned "their" responses. Anything that is too hard to comprehend is brushed off quickly with a second though. I see now how it works...a defense mechanisim. I keep slowly offering the truth how I see bible scripture and now watch the reaction of how it is to be answered. I think it is quite amusing that there is a scurry to the holy book and a rustling of pages then silence while the answer is constructed....

  i know the poster lost generation made a fantastic thread on this july 15th apostate article, however - i noticed some very powerful points on pg.

  17 paragraphs 9 - 11 which weren't brought out that i feel needed to be touched on.

  as was brought out in his thread this article told jw's to avoid apostates because they are " mentally diseased " allegedly and to avoid their web sites, not read their literature, watch t.v.

  Silly question but didn't "the talking snake" (who is presumed to be satan), tell the truth to Eve about not dying if she ate the apple and they would know good and evil and become like gods.. was it not god who actually lied about the eating the apple in the first place??

  this is a personal observation and certainly not representative of all atheists.

  i enjoy discussions with folks of this persuasion; in general they appear well read and somewhat more educated than many believers.

  as a group most atheists cringe and become insensed when discussing the existence of a deity with believers especially fundamentalists.

  Before reading everyones replies to the origional post statement I would like to say that not all atheists are of the "rational science is right" stance. What amazes me is that jehovah or the idea of jehovah is acredited to creating everything the universe etc etc. Thanks to the JW organisation I was forced to examine what I actually believe....I am now an atheist. Even if it was true and jehovah did exsist,.. I'd want to be sand in his sandles to annoy the desert dwelling retard who thinks he has the right to do what he liked with the human race. inc. promoting abuse.

  I find it insulting to my minimal intellegence that we should be threatened by a jealous god to worship him or endure his wrath. Any idea of a dominating god who wants to be called "the KING" or "LORD" to me is disgusing and to rebel, or to not accept the "only self-claimed true king": one is instantly accused of siding with Satan, is also ludicrous..The idea that the bible is the only truth is rediculous as science has proved it wrong about the understanding we have about the world we live in, however there are professional apologists who twist the bible scripture to fit modern thinking. Being accused of working for Satan because you have a different view on life also just shows that Judean / muslim and christian religions are not tollerant or accepting of either each other nor other beliefs.

  No, there is nothing wrong in wanting an eternal life and feeling good all the time, why not?? . but wouldn't that get boring after a while? There is nothing wrong with belieiving in what you want to. I'd not want to spend all the rest of eternity praising the lord and his wisdom just to relieve his vanity.

  Perhaps Bhuddist monks are closer to the truth of finding that heaven within?? The are atheists.
