okay ,, this is a question and a confession.

we have had an issue come to a head in this household of mine.

after getting to the bottom of my parners intentions i have given her an ultimatum knowing all too well she will choose the jws over myself and family.

Yes, agreed children are always worth fighting for. Principle are too. I do not like finding that a partner of mine would listen to people she does not know over her huband who she has had to trust with ther life and well being. Okay I already give her room to move. She is free do do as she sees fit but its a very selfish thing to engage in. The ultimate prize out of all of this is eternal life with the under one Jehovah here on earth.

She is deluded enough to believe that her family may not perish at Armageddon.

You all know its just around the corner?? laughs out loud.

Anyway thanks so far with the answers. I last night challenged her over the news article challenging the WT statements on mentally diseased Jews...sorry did I say that? I meant apostates (same thing in christain terms isn't it?). after watching videos on you tube the standard answers are coming out..Satan put them in the newspaper

00DAD I am not sure but links for this paper turn up on US atheist sites and facebook. the UK is probabally not as bothered as the US about religious affairs. The churches in general are failing here and its groups like the JWs thatr want to capitalise on that fact..

We have muslims shouting out against UK law so this, may be,... seen as just another one of "those" religions hitting the headlines.

as most of us here are aware the wt society is using the " kool-aid " , or witness only version as i call it - to indoctrinate and intimidate jw members through fear and guilt to avoid anything that takes their devotion and attention away from allegiance to the wt society's ambitions.

so the wt society is amping up it's control methods once again in various articles in this issue as well.. first off - notice this quote from page 14 , paragraph 16 , regarding how " dangerous " allegedly the internet is.

it states, " these desires ( of the world ) involve such things as promiscuity, prominence , and possessions.

What I overheard whilst listening at "her" B.S. The BSteacher was telling "her" that JWs can get jobs easily beause they are trusted..people know this and by reputation are trusted above others. The BS teacher also has 2 children , one goes to college studying tourism... so where is the restriction in education??

if i could offer my perspective.

issues around free speech are some of the most difficult.

balancing the right of someone being able to say what they want against the "harm" that might cause.

What is quite ironic, as sizemilk states is the lawsuits and the scandals have generated bad publicity yet the organisation still survives taking in new members. They manage to fool and beguile far too often.

I did notice with my wifes brianwashing that Satan was against the organisation right from the very start. Confronting her with the mentally diseased new article today she straight away acted as if the article had been worded wrong or it just wasn't true and hand been penned by Satans hand himself...how uncomforting is that??

In this age of almost instant news and information aquistion how is it they still manage to con people??

SIr 82 you may be surprised to know that you may be wrong. Richard Dawkins in an Atheist and whist he appeals to those who are non religious you will surprised who used to be religious and that includes ex JWs and people who have been effected by them like myself. Although I have not yet read any of his books I listen to his lectures. We also see him on TV occationally in the UK. If the JWs hadn't come knocking I would still be none the wiser to who Mr Dawkins was. Anyway I think things will blow over really quickly. The publicity has to be constant to keep awareness up.

Climate change and the WBTS.

at this year's dc we heard the org's analysis on climate change and the deteriorating ozone layer.

we were told that jehovah will destroy those who destroy the earth, including those who chop down trees that are supposed to give oxygen in exchange for our carbon dioxide.. surely such a big corporation should have done a thourough research and found that they are also culprits.

they print millions, if not billions, of literature each year.

I am sure all organisations and businesses have a duty to report its environmental impact to the government. I wonder if it is published??

The Watchtower slams the Catholics, why not Islam?

given that the wbt$ is always ready to insult the catholics and other religions why don't they slam islam in the same way?.

is it because it's not considered 'christian' or do they know that muslims won't take their insults?.

or do they and i just missed it?.

I think the WTBT$ would be too scared to publish anthing against them... Perhaps a letter to them asking what their beliefs are might stir things up??
