Cedars, although i have never been a JW the organisation affects my life through my child and i respect your views and attempts to stop the disease spreading.

I watched a DVD about the purple triangles with my wife and she was so excited that the JWs had told this story that they had been involved.. Although it is a real tragedy which involved all manner of people in society not just the JWs it was so sad to see it as just an opportunity for the WTBT$ to self promote.
It is the same as the statement that cedars put up there at the start of this thread... the watchtower are only concerned with thier own and like many religious organisations who have already expressed their thoughts on this tragedy it is just an opportunity to self promote.
How many athiest children would have been missed by the bullets? proportionally a high amount since they are even a smaller minority than the JWs in the school system.

if you had to make a decision on a fact being true, what would be the deciding factor for you... your feelings and faith, scriptural statement or evidence presented by modern science?.
would scripture trump evidence, or would faith trump scripture etc .

I once had a metaphysical view about the world until I realised that most of it was made up. Science has taken humanity further with medicene in 60 years than any faith has given in 2000 years. If science can put a man on the moon, measure and actually see the physicla universe than I am of th opinion that they are not trying to expell god out of any universe. Just god happens to be ,...well. Just absent.

they are new to the congregation since i left in 2002/3.. they were offering a dvd for deaf people to 'learn what god requires of me".
i said there were no deaf people here.. the other guy that was just standing there asked if there were deaf people in this area.

Why settle for christian beliefs? Reincarnation is another way of seeing life as an ever ending cycle. I am atheist afraid to die but not afraid to not have an afterlife. Imagine having to praise god for an eternity? I'd rather not.

children learn religions at school and hopefully here in the uk they are taught a balanced unbias view on all religious beliefs pacticed in the world leading to a more harmonious and less separate world.. it should be safe to assume that the jw teachings wouldn't be any different...open and honest.

Thanks Mr Flipper,. i know of Mr Hassan and will look on the site now. Watching a recent series on the BBC about Adolf Hitler, his charisma and how he organised the German people the tactics are the same as the indoctrination into any cult like religious organisation. He made the German people think they were elite, he told them there was only one true leader. His influence over the German nation included indoctrinating from a very early age of boys who were to die for Germany knowing they would live on in the spirit of Germany. Scary, and one can see what is in common with the WTBT$ and its blinkering of their followers..

If you think that we actually evolved and this made by god is just a way of explaining things that bronze age people said then perhaps it really wouldn't matter.
If on the other hand we had developed beyond biblical morality and the cruelty of Jehovah who over reacted when punishing his creation beyond reason then i guess now perhaps jehovah should be workin gout a way of appologising to the human race for over acting.
Most HUMAN contemporary fathers would not consider expelling their child for a minor misdamenor or over react in such a crazy manner. Jehovah as described in the bible is nothing more than a spoilt child who must get his way no matter what...What would society recon to Jehovahs if he was infact a person.

yes i am a non believer but also very concerned that his mother, an active & obsessed jw is filling his mind with this sort of thing.
alarm bells are ringing in my head because last night was not the first time he said it.
