Mmm. Some poor guy got preserved forever *yawning* during Obama's speech... oof.
That was Obama's brother in law, Michelle's brother. I laughed about that too.

We measured a little while ago, and it's about 9" on the car so far. Four people on snowmobiles just went past our house.
The table and chairs on the deck have at least a foot of snow. It's still snowing. Sure is pretty, but I am sick of being stuck in the house.

Storm history: in 1968 or 69 (can't remember for sure it was sometime in my Senior year) we had one that closed school for a week. It seems to me we have a pretty good one every five years or so. About 96 or so we were iced/flooded into our house in Carnation for several days.
I think it was '69...........we had a new baby and a VW bug. It was completely buried in the snow. I remember all New Year's Eve festivities were cancelled. We had snow on the ground for weeks that year.
For those of you who don't know about our weather, this is VERY unusual. We usually get 2-3 snow days a year, but not in December, and the snow is gone in a day or two. It always warms up and rains and it's gone, just as fast as it got here.

Snow looks like fun...I've never been!
Snow can be really fun, but when it's this cold, you had better just stay inside.

Yes, it was much worse South of us. It's been 40 years since we had this big of a storm. I didn't remember it that way, but that's what they are saying the local news.
I can count on one hand the White Christmases in Seattle. Very unseasonal weather for sure. Must be global warming.

Aussie Christmas = Hot weather, barbies, and bathers!
by Witness 007 indecember 25th in australia...no snow here, the hottest time of year.
santa's wear red bathers and thongs and we have kangaroo's instead of raindeer!
bakini's and bathers and thongs {flip flops not the sexy kind...usually} beach and pool parties are all the rage as everything else is closed...yes we do throw a shrimp on the barbie...not many roasts but lots of seafood.

We never have big ass turkeys here....are ovens are small, americans have ovens as big as a garage!
right you are..............I baked a 40 pound turkey a few years ago. It completely filled the oven and I had to borrow a commercial pan because I had nothing that it would fit in.
I didn't know you have small ovens. Bigger is better. I actually have two ovens.
Brrrrr, frigid, snowy weather here.
