Do elders have Bible Studies?
by slipnslidemaster inin my experience, i have never seen an elder in the congregations that i was associated with bring (or have for that matter) a bible study to the kingdom hall.. now i think that i already know the reason for that, but it seems that the majority of the bible studies are done by the poor sister pioneers.. is this the case in the hall you went to?.

My husband was an elder for 25 years, and always had Bible Studies. I can't tell you how many he studied with, that are now of the R&F. Many are elders too. So, yes, he had people coming to the KH every week. Our family was very active in the "service", and can admit now that we hated it, but we thought we were doing the right thing. I also had many studies, as I was a regular pioneer for years. Sometimes we had studies with couples one evening a week, and because we also had 4 children, our time was pretty full, with all the other things you do as an active JW. I can't imagine how we fit it all in, and still had enough time for our kids. We did though. And, we were younger then, too.

Society on Documenting Personal Views
by Marvin Shilmer inquestion: does the watchtower society want individual witnesses expressing personal viewpoints about vital religious issues to persons whose intent is to record and document the findings?
the following letter written under the new letterhead from the societys service department documents the answer to this question.
christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses.

Does anyone else think it's odd that they suggest offering these people publications to read? Right. Like they will sift through a book for their answers. JanG is right. Stonewalled!

i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.
a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.

False Memories
by Jang indo any of you know of anyone who is or has been a jw who has supposedly recovered memories of being sexually or ritually abused as a jw?
i figured that this must have arisen in the org because of the article they had in the mags about 4 years back on the subject.
since then i have heard of a couple who have claimed to heave been satanicly ritually abused as jw's .

JanG, Just ignore them. I think they purposely don't "hear" what you are saying, and are arguing for the sake of argument.

At this point, I am witholding judgment. She obviously had some kind of terrible, horrendous experience. I wouldn't invalidate her for the world, and I also don't rule out anything anymore. After all, for nearly 50 years, I believe the WT society was God's spokesman.

WTS vs HISTORY
by bj inaccording to the watchtower- april 1, 2001, p. 11, par.
11, peter went to babylon (1peter 5:13) but according to tradition it was thomas who went to babylon.
so what is meant by babylon?.

Why do you say there is no proof that Peter was ever in Rome? Did the WTS tell you that? I watched a program on A&E last winter where they gave numerous proofs that he was in Rome, as a matter of course. They weren't trying to prove it to anyone, but talked about things he did there, and showed evidences of his being there. It convinced me.

I just don't get the appeal of this guy. He gives me the creeps and I hate his "music". Maybe he is a genius of sorts, but not to my taste in music. And I like all kinds too, not just the oldies, guys.

There was a woman (50ish) at the conference I was at last weekend, who had this kind of memory. I can't tell you her name, because she asked not to be revealed, but she had quite a story. Satanic ritual abuse, etc., within the Borg. Evidently, if this is a true thing, they are programmed to kill themselves, if they tell, so she was taking quite a risk in telling her story. Also, they are afraid of other repurcussions.
