Do elders have Bible Studies?
by slipnslidemaster inin my experience, i have never seen an elder in the congregations that i was associated with bring (or have for that matter) a bible study to the kingdom hall.. now i think that i already know the reason for that, but it seems that the majority of the bible studies are done by the poor sister pioneers.. is this the case in the hall you went to?.

I have to agree with Larc here. Every child is a potential victim to a molester. My husband talked to a JW, who was a psychologist, helping him on a congregational matter, and he said that a pedolphile can spot a victim in seconds. That means he knows which child is likely to be victimized, safely. Scary, huh? So, that allows for ALL kids, no matter who they are. That was a few years ago, of course.

Has anyone felt like leaving God altogether?
by lookingnow22 ini know that the answer is yes, but it would help me to hear your sentiments on this.
.
after you decided that the wbts, and thus jw's were not god's chosen earthly organization did you feel like you wanted to leave and forget god altogether?.

My brother who left the Borg, in 1977, says that God is the biggest lie of all. He keeps hammering that at me, but I don't think I believe that, at this time. I think God is there, but he isn't as restrictive as religion makes him out to be. I believe he is all accepting, like any loving parent would be. But, I still don't really know. I don't pray either. Well, sometimes, but not the way others do. It occurred to me a few years back that prayer works like goal setting, and I do believe in goal setting. Set your goal, work towards it, keep focused, and it will happen. It just does. Same with prayer, right? So, maybe it's all the same thing. Just a thought.

Six years ago, when it all hit me, I felt that there was no God at all. My God had been the WTS, and if it was not "the truth", then there was no God. It took me months to figure out why I didn't believe in God anymore. I had always thought I was a spiritual person, but I was just a religious person. My religion failed me, so God did too. I felt that way for a very long time. Now, my feeling is "I don't know". But I tend to think there is a God, because the creation is just too complex, but I don't believe there is a vindictive God, who is so paranoid, and selfish, that he requires us to constantly be "puffing him up" and praising him for everything that happens in our lives, good or bad, or he will kill us. Whatever my paradigm is now, that just doesn't fit it.

Aluminum is dangerous!
by Kent inthe watchtower was extremely preoccupied by what they called aluminum poisoning, and they published death rates because of this in their magazines.
the increased use of aluminum cooking utensils was the reason for the problem, they said.. not everyone who uses aluminum gets cancer, of course, but all stand a chance of getting it, they wrote in the the golden age september 23.
1936.. read this article for yourself, and take a closer look at the medical expertise inside the watchtower!.

I think they are mainly afraid of Alzheimer's disease!! It's well known that people who die of that terrible affliction, have high levels of aluminum in their brains. My stepfather has it, they think! They only sure way to diagnose it, is with a brain biopsy. Usually not done until after death.......autopsy.

Hi Kent,
Thanks for the explanation. I believe what you are saying, but my Mom would jump right on those little things and would never admit that they aren't just "right on" as far as grammar and all, and would never misspell a word. Thanks anyway. I may try it, and see what she says. As to the letterheads, I'm not sure that would work either. We have lots of WT letterheads here, and we could sure make a fake document. Oh well. Some of these people need to be HIT on the head I think. -

Hi Kent,
I just went to this site, and saw the post I did last week. Not too many read it, so I'm glad you are giving it some more exposure. It was a real revelation to my mother. -

Are they demons?
by Free2Bme insince i left the org.
i have read some mind-boggling books on subjects such as mind-control, witchcraft, demonism, and conspiracy theories.. i obviously do not believe all i read but never-the-less have come across interesting real-life experiences that have made me wonder.. recently i read david icke's "the biggest secret" and found his theories on shape-shifting lizards ruling the world bizarre to say the least.. but something david icke said stopped me in mid-sneer.he said replace the lizards with demons if that was how you wanted to think of it.. it reminded me of a book i once borrowed from library about a young woman who was possessed by demons and described their shifting appearance as horrifically ugly or transforming to absolute visions of male beauty.. so if satan and his demons do rule this world as we were taught is it so unbelievable that they might possess influental people and certain individuals with psychic perception would be able to catch glimpses of them shape-shifting?.
anyone else familiar with icke's ideas and material?
