i seem to recall that on this summer's district assemblies there is an experience given about a woman who was involved in various voluntary community services, but quit them and became a pioneer.
does anyone remember this?
if so, can anyone provide more solid documentation?.
Good grief!! How old are you in that photo? About 12?

the latest edition of the free in christ ministries journal contains a very interesting article entitled the watchtower and masons.. drawing upon material from the book the watchtower & the masons by fritz springmeier, it gives the following parallels between the things that c t russell believed and those taught by the masons:.
* both believe jehovah is the most important word being the basis of their dogma, and the name of their god.
* both believe god yielded power to a lesser god.
Hasn't this subject been pretty well exhausted on this forum?
No proof, just mis quotes, and no evidence.

bummers, just heard back from commentary press..... dear ms. ******:.
we regret to say that the only audio publication we have is the recording of a 1975 talk by f.w.
franz with commentary by r. v. franz.. it is listed on the web site: www.
Thanks for the update. Too bad. They are long books and will take a long time to record.

i am new here trying to figure my way around...... i would appreciate it if you could say which of these fits you..... 1. still a jw.
2. if you dont agree with the jw doctrines any longer do you belong to another religious organization now?
3. are still religious and have no religious affiliation.
I posted earlier that I was a 4, but after thinking about it for a couple of days, I realize that I do believe in God, and a life after death, so that makes me a 3, I think. There are lots of times, that I doubt though. Many parts of the Bible make me question everything I had once felt was true, so maybe I am between 3 and 4.
My husband and I argue about this all the time. He is definitely a 3, and he worries about me, that I have lost my spirituality. The main thing, for me, is I am apathetic about it all. Maybe that makes me a 6. My God was the WTS, and it died in my heart, so getting God back has been really a hard road for me.

this is sort of a take-off of the "what should the wt do" thread.. i need to get together a board of directors and elect a president and officers.
we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.
we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.
I just found this thread. Very funny.
I must say, though, that any thought of religion, funny or otherwise, makes me a bit ill. But........not wanting to be left out, if I have to participate, let me be with Venice in the kitchen. We can make tiramasu. Her recipe is the BEST!!

it's always that little fact ruining a good story.... anyway, jws in western norway have their district convention right now in stavanger.
some jws had planned to go up to "prekestolen" ("the pulpit") and drink wine this evening (or yd, not entirely certain).
as you will surely agree, the view would be fabolous:.
WOW!! No guard rails (fences)? What a great view.

my observation is that persons who 1) heal/adjust the most rapidly from their jw experience and 2) seem to have the most joy in life are those who read, read, read, in pursuit of what i call nourishment for the spirit.
i've really enjoy the pithy aphorisms you use here, which suggests you've distilled some wisdom from somewhere.
i'm going to ask your help in this thread.
Yep. That's it!! I wasn't home when I wrote that post, so was going on memory, for all of them.
Another really good one is The Rise of Christianity, by Starr. This one opened my eyes to some of the customs at the time Christianity was starting, and made me see why some of the things in the Bible, are there. It just all fits.
And, The Danciing Wu Li Masters is good too. I forgot that one.
Combatting Cult Mind Control, Steven Hassan.
