I maintain that there can be no such thing as "inaccurate knowledge." Knowledge is "what is known, facts and information." Accurate knowledge is a JWism. I've never heard that term from anyone else. "Inaccurate knowledge" is like saying "untrue fact." It is oxymoronism at its finest.

Anyone noticed a curiosity on the Memorial Invitation for 2013 ?
by EdenOne ini can't scan the memorial invitation for 2013, but i was looking at it today and noticed something curious on the front drawing.. we have jesus as the central figure of the composition.
to his right and bottom, a large crown, in colour, of shiny happy people of diverse origins.. separated from this by the figure of jesus, is another group, a much smaller one, on the left and as if ascending to the top, and grayed.. clearly portrayed in this group is the face of ct russell and apparently william tyndale.
but then, also sarah and abraham and other personalities of the ot seem to be represented there.

This invitation will repel the KKIK and the Nazis and the Westboro Baptists. As my former Spanish professor would say, "Would you really want to spend eternity with ------------- ?"

What was offensive to me was Abe's treatment of Hagar, the old "fu** 'em and forget 'em" routine. He said nothing to her, and expressed no gratitude for her going through the torture of childbirth for him. He just sent his own son and the woman who sacrificed significantly for him into the wilderness with a bunch of sentimental hogwash directed to the boy, but not a kind word for the mother.

2014 Event
by enigma1863 ini know its a year away but i wanted to inquire about the hundred year anniversary of 1914. it would be amazing to have a world wide event reguarding all exjws.
i am nowhere near capable of putting this together but i'd like to propose the largest assembly of exjws ever on october 1st 2014. can it be done?
am i the first to bring this up?

This is a great idea. Maybe someone on this board owns a large compound where we could meet. I only regret that the folks who were alive in 1914 won't be around to mark it with us. All centenarians should be invited, too, so they will know, and we will witness that, they survived the "end" even though they were not JW's.

Yesterday's WT Study par 17
by leaving_quietly ini marked down "research" next to this paragraph w13 1/15 p.11 par.
17), and have yet to do so fully.. "modern christians held in nazi concentration camps with possible death facing them were given repeated opportunities to gain their freedom by signing a declaration renouncing jehovah.".
was the declaration to renounce jehovah?

The Dalai Lama has told Buddhists that if it will save their lives to renounce him, he can take it. Why can't all of the other "great" beings take it?

Not the most gripping plot in Caleb's latest adventure...
by cedars inhttp://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/children/become-jehovahs-friend/videos/stealing-is-bad/.
caleb sees some brightly-colored lollies.. caleb's mom tells him they're not buying candy today.. caleb puts down the lollies, sulking.. caleb thinks about stealing just one lolly, but remembers his dad's words at family study, that if he steals he won't be jehovah's friend.. caleb puts back the lolly smiling, and runs along.. .
hardly a gripping plot.

Do JW kids have a moral compass? "Teaching" right and wrong based on whether someone else (even God) will be their "friend" is just wacko.

My terminally ill friend will read this; please offer your love and support.
by compound complex indear friends:.
forty-five years ago i was out in service with an elder, and we came upon a house where the owners kindly received us.
this was not so unusual as the family was jehovah's witnesses.

Keep yourself laughing. You do know that Norman Cousins claims to have cured himself of cancer with laughter. Whether or not it's a cure, it's the way to enjoy life!
Take care,

Why doesn't the WT ever see it's self as "Wicked"?
by Deputy Dog inin luke 11:13 jesus refers to his beloved deciples as wicked.
the wt (and most jws) see themselves as faithful and discreet.
they are teaching people to be self-righteous arent they?.

Anti-JW Cult: Why did you enslave yourself to new doctrines without fully investigating their validity first?

Hi, Change. I would like to clarify a few things.
I did become a JW. I was a 15-year-old at the time. I don't blame anyone. It just seemed like the thing to do. However, I would not have been exposed to the JW's at all if my dad had not wanted to "Kiss up" to his boss.
I did want to be a Christian at that young age. I had lived with my grandparents the first ten years of my life, and they were Christians in the true sense of the word, good, hard-working, kind and generous human beings. However, they did not have the slick presentation of the JW's.
I was a JW for 17 years. For the first five years or so, I was a single JW with no other family members in the borg. It was when I married an elder and became more familiar with the inner workings, the pettiness, the constant infighting, and the downright hypocrisy, that I woke up and smelled the coffee.
I do not blame anyone for my own choices. I hate the blame game. I do understand, though, that one's environment can influence one to make poor choices. I do not have to obey anyone now.
