  easy take down of Jehovah's Witnesses

  we all know jehovah's witnesses/gb through their approved publications teach to marry "only in the lord.".

  well this is simply impossible for the rank and file.

  they are not considered in jesus or part of his body which is exactly what that.

  Been asked to share my experience at church!!

  my vicar asked me if i and another lady would like to say a few words about our faith journey.. she said my story was a particular powerful one, what with the da'ing and subsequent shunning.

  i can also choose a hymn or christian song.. i was thinking of romans 8:38, 39 to highlight the shunning and the other scripture ne of how true christians will be indentified, if they have love among themselves etc.

  i need to look that one up exactly.. any ideas for content for further content??.

  Tell them to be kind to the dubs at the door. Being unkind feeds their persecution complex and makes them more certain that they're right. I remember so many people who were kind to me; some even gave me a drink of water or tea. I am grateful to those wonderful "worldly" people.

  Online Higher Education

  since the faithful and discreet slave class now opposes higher education because it allegedly brings with it 'bad association', i wonder what their take is on online education.

  let's remember that distance education was pioneered by fundamentalist saudi arabia and apartheid south africa for the very reasons that the jehovah's witnesses criticize higher education.

  my wife is one of the faithful and i fear for our kids future, that they will see no point in keeping their grades up.

  Have you encouraged your sons to explore careers and decide what they want to do?

  My daughter and I are both college grads, but my 24-year-old granddaughter doesn't want to go to college. We think she will want to go back and get her education in the future, after a few hard knocks.

  Your sons need to take some personality (e.g., the MBTI) and vocational interest (e.g. Strong's Interest Inventory) tests to see what they might be good at and might enjoy doing. Work is a significant part of life, and it is a pity to be doing something you did not choose or may not want to do.

  Seriously considering stepping down as Elder

  i have been an elder for 6 years.

  it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.

  i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.

  Do you have any friends at work you can trust? You could ask them to get some mail (COC from Amazon) for you and bring it to work. You could read it on your lunch hours. The book that helped me make a clean bread was Your Erroneous Zones by Dr. Wayne Dyer, in which he discusses how ridiculous it is to live your life to please others and not yourself.

  Hospice workers have identified the five most common regrets of the dying. They are: (1) I wish I hadn't worked so hard; (2) I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends; (3) I wish I had let myself be happier; (4) I wish I had had the courage to express my true self; and (5) I wish I had been true to my dreams instead of what others expected of me.

  You are allowing this cult to suck the life and joy out of you. You deserve better. Your wife deserves someone who wants to be with her.

  How old are your children? Encourage them to be themselves and not be concerned about what others think. Assure them of your love no matter what you or they do. They might secretly hate being JW's, as a lot of JW kids do. Let them know that they deserve to be happy and to live freely. Encourage them to discover their talents and use them in service to humanity, as there are much better ways to do that than "placing" Watchtower literature.

  A "follow up" meeting?!?!

  when you tell the elders that you have doubts and they say " its okay, we have had our doubts.

  having doubts is not apostasy.

  Elders Can't Simply Go Back to Being Ministerial Servants...

  as a currently serving "awake" elder caught in the web of family, spouse, employer, etc.

  etc..... i have often wondered why an elder cannot simply drop back to ministerial servant if he so desired (because of stress, circumstances, health).. on paper a currently serving elder in good standing more than qualifies to be a ms. that is obviously the case by their own hierarchy structure and definitions of qualification.. but...under their current arrangement....theoretically a man could give a district convention talk one week to 10,000 people, step down as an elder the following day due to stress, and not "qualify" to give a 5 min part on the next week's service meeting in front of 50 people.

  doesn't make a lot of sense.. so my question is this.....why do you think the wt forces a man to drop all the way "down" to publisher if he no longer wants to serve as an elder?.

  It places them lower in the pecking order:

  1. GB

  2. Regional overseers (DO & CO, or whatever they still have)

  3. Elders

  4. MS

  5. Male pioneers

  6. Children

  7. Female pioneers

  8. Pond scum

  9. Female publishers

  If they really wanted to punish you, they'd make you transgender.

  ok, so i dont want to be a negative bitter person...and we all love little kids, but i am just so torn about the new video just uploaded on jw.org.

  if you havent watched it yet, have a look at it...."an animated series that touches hearts".

  (yes, its well done...and they certainly like to do a lot of boasting about their technical skills etc...).

  What I find disturbing about these videos is that they are about "pleasing Jehovah," not about right from wrong, not about whether anyone was hurt. So they're laying the groundwork for "pleasing Jehovah" as Priority One. Then they can tell the kids that giving the GB their allowance (or worse) "pleases Jehovah." This is thought control at its most devious and evil.

  Then it's okay for mainline churches and non-Christians to teach falsehood as well, as far as I'm concerned. When I became a JDub, the emphasis was on "accurate knowledge," not just whatever was said by the scum that rose to the top.

  the question is.. if you were to be made god how would interact with your creations?

  I would intervene personally every time someone attacked or tried to harm someone smaller or weaker, particularly pedophiles. Pedophiles would not survive. Nor would those who exploit the labor and talent of others to enrich themselves.

  Raising Children in more than one language

  i recently told my wife that i am speaking only in the jamaican dialect from now on in my house because she has failed to teach her children her native language because she has put religion first, manners and discipline second, their education third, and her native language somewhere at the bottom.

  while i am not jamaican, nor have i been to jamaica i lived in a jamaican rastafarian community as a rastafarian.

  i am now orthodox christian as are many rastafarians and i still consider myself culturally rastafarian but no longer identify with their heresies.

  I envy people who grew up in bilingual or multi-lingual households. If one can speak Spanish, Chinese and English, he or she can communicate with most of the population of the world.
