During the public talk, I work on my personal Bible reading assignment. It looks like I am taking notes and looking up the scriptures but I'm on my own mission.
How do you do that so well? I remember a number of years ago, an elder called to invite me to a special talk. Well, during the watchtower study I was flipping through the watchtower, not always on the exact study page. After a few days he asked how I felt. I said I still continued to have problems with the teachings, etc. He then chastised me for not following along page for page with study. WOW. I did not even know he was looking at me during that time. Talk about complete control!!
Actually that is one memory that will be put in my " another reason the watchtower has problems" category.

Blondie, Thanks for your reply.
So now to be part of the generation that will not pass away, one only needs to have been born at any time during the "time of the end." So a 20, 30, 40, 50 year old person would qualify as being part of that generation (according to the WTS not Blondie)
This is the current teaching? That is hard to believe. The last time I discussed this teaching was with an elder. He insisted that this teaching could not be wrong, and that it was a cornerstone teaching which would not be changed. ( due to new light). Hmmmm, I wonder what he is thinking now.

No generation of 1914

I have not heard the latest "new light" on this. Is the current teaching that there is not a generation that saw the events of 1914, and will survive armageddon?
I left once (became inactive) and came back. Boy, that was stupid.
Stupid? I think anytime you honestly do what you feel is right, its not stupid.

LB, Sorry to disappoint you, But yeah, the pack is still in the NFL. If they quit the league, it would be the only way the whiners would win on the 15th.

brief background info - hubby and i were both raised in the borg.

he started having doubts years before me but kept silent.

i came across info on the internet, ordered ray franz' books, found h20 website, then this one.

Tweetie, I feel the way your husband does at times (most of the time). I feel like I should be going somewhere, but anytime I go to the kingdom hall, I remember the reasons why I left. The single biggest reason that keeps coming back to my mind is " Avoid independant thinking". The message is loud and clear in watchtower publications. I still cannot believe that witnesses agree with that reasoning.
Does your husband feel more obligated to his family than with the watchtower perhaps? He may need to have some serious talks with them first.
