a sister from my "congregation" has a bible study, and this study had compiled a boatload of questions about russell, the wt history, and incongruencies etc.
and the sister told her that she refuses to answer the questions and that they are apostate teachings.
she told the study that "it isn't up to me to prove the truth to you, you need to prove the truth to yourself".. as another poster put up the topic of "doesn't it blow your mind?

I don't have a problem with that comment. She was taking a message she believed was true and telling someone else about it.
I do have a problem with her not answering questions about the Watchtowers past. Nothing at all wrong with asking questions. The fact that they were not answered should raise big red flags!

In the bible Jesus says "I am the way and the truth and the life". I believe that Jws who use this term, show disrespect for that statement.
in the recent past, i started a thread on how i can't stand teenagers.. something has happened to make me ashamed of those statements.. my daughter informed me that her 15-year old daughter stayed on the phone all night with a friend because her friend was afraid to go to sleep.. the friend's dad had to leave around midnight to go out of town to work.
the child called my g'daughter and asked her to stay on the phone with her because she was home alone and afraid.. my g'daughter propped herself up in bed with her ipod and a cup of tea and talked to her friend until dawn began to break.
now, that is real friendship.. i just wanted to share this.. sylvia.
I feel that your granddaughter showed great heart in what she did. I just wonder if those negative feelings about teenagers will come back when the phone bill comes.
worked nightshift so woke at 2pm and went out to buy some beer and scotch and a cigar to smoke for the first time!
realized my wife had taken my credit card so went home...didn't have time to buy a cigar..damn!
6.30pm had a polish beer and started the barbie.
We are just staying home with the family. Twilight zone marathon on Scifi. Rum and coke on the coffee table. All good.

I am not positive, but I guess the Watchtower bible and tract society could not be touched. The people would have to sue the drivers insurance company
ever since i bought my townhouse i've been doing all sorts of little projects here and there.. i fixed some weather stripping on the door.changed the locks after moving in.i seeded the back yard so it would start growing grassi fixed my counter-top that was a bit un-even.etc... all sorts of little things here and there.. today i did the biggest (little) job: i fixed an odd sound coming from a sink.. i noticed a second drain pipe under the sink that connected to the sink's main drain pipe.
i removed the second pipe and confirmed that the "plunking" sound was coming from it.
i traced the pipe up to the ac/heating unit in the attic.

Your thread title reminds me of growing up as a witness, my mom told me that the "apostates" would change the awake and watchtower articles to deceive Jehovah's faithful witnesses. I didn't believe that though. I never saw the evidence.

I've moved on. I know that they are really the ones missing out. I have my real family, (husband, children, grandchildren, real-life friends, and ya'll here)
