That's where its nice to read the Crisis of Conscience book. It really brings the GB to a more human level.
I remember a number of years ago, I wrote a letter to the Watchtower headquarters asking questions about doctrine. As normal practice, they did not answer the questions, but sent an elder to knock on my door. He really pushed for me to go to the Sunday talk because it was a slide presentation (I always loved those things). The person showing the slides showed a picture of the governing body. I recognized the picture because it was in a anti witness book I was currently reading. The speaker asked the congregation if they knew who these men were or what their names were. You could have heard a pin drop. No one in the audience had a clue. I knew some only because of the research I was doing (Lol). But yet every one there was putting their life in these mens hands. Not to mention, these men also had the ability to change the bible to suit their needs. How can anyone check their credentials or education in doing this type of work? But yet, they have many many followers just following and thinking it all comes from Jehovah God himself, so it must be true. Unbelievable!
