  Change of doctrine - when did this happen?

  i received this article from a friend:.

  watchtower changes concerning the anointed 144,000. there has been a major change concerning the 144,000 (the anointed) and for many years the anointed has played a major role in the teachings of the watchtower (wt).

  the 144,000 is the most crucial teaching to the witnesses; however, the teaching on this belief has changed over the past few years.

  Need Some Tough Love & Help

  not sure how to approach this but here goes.....my wife discovered a porn site on the computer tonight.

  yes, i was going to them, and i was foolish to think i could never get caught.

  i have been visiting them for some years, not a daily problems, but occasionaly every month or so - still a problem wethere its once or a hundred times.

  Obviously your wife is having a hard time dealing with this, but you must realize that you're both looking at this from the WT perspective which is BIG on GUILT and LITTLE on UNDERSTANDING.

  That fact that the WTBTS has recently written letters to the BOEs softening the stance on even elders viewing pornography proves it's very common and not going away.

  You both need to discuss in a mature way WHY you feel/felt the need/desire to do this. Consider marriage counseling.

  Finally, your adult daughter doesn't need to know about this. It's none of her business. That's WT thinking.

  wtf is the wt doing to the minds of the brethren???.

  this morning i went to the post office at 7:50am to pick up a package.

  turns out the mail box section was open at 8am but the actual post office didn't open until 8:30am... rather than drive home and come back later i decided to get out my car and wait on a nearby park bench.

  I can answer that: JW's are systematically trained to not think.

  Independent thought and its consequent action (whatever it may be) is the most serious crime anyone can commit against the WTBTS.

  You tried to get him to think. That goes against all of his training and indoctrination.

  "if it was'nt for the preaching work there would be millions more witnesses" - he was saying jehovah wants quality not quantity.. si i'm thinking, what's the difference as long as he has a people that live by bible standards and are moral.

  maybe sharing their hope and faith with friends and relatives on a casual basis?

  how backwards is that?.

  Let me get this straight. He was saying the preaching work actually reduces the number of Witnesses?

  But then they always point to increases as "proof" of Jehovah's blessing.

  Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that JW "theology" is full of blatant contradictions and non-sensical ideas and beliefs?

  New Rooming Arrangement for some district conventions in the UK - what are they up to?

  so i missed this letter below being read out last week - i got a look at it from the notice board this week.. from what i heard, this announcement was not received entirely positively as such, but there were apparently one or two for who this is a bit annoying.. staying at hotels for the district convention is nothing new here - many are used to staying at the same hotel/b&b/campsite every year, and get quite friendly with the owners.

  but this year, it looks like not only do we have a new location for our district assembly (glasgow - the s.e.c.c.?

  ) but we are being told what hotel to stay at, supposedly to make things cheaper.. what i can't understand is, if this is really for the benefit of people, why didn't they do this years ago?

  They've been doing that for 20+ years in the United States. In fact, they give the publishers a lot of flack if any of them "go off the reservation" and stay at a hotel NOT on the list.

  If God is so easily "removed" from schools then I don't see how he'd be able to stop a bullet.

  Besides, those innocent little children had nothing to do with the "removal" of God from their school. Why blame the victims? How does that help?

  Catching up with DF couple in supermarket frustrating.

  hubby and i (faders) were in the supermarket today.

  we had just avoided and completely ignored an elder and his wife when we saw a newly married couple who were both recently disfellowshipped, of course being the rebels we are we made a bee line for them.

  the df man was until recently a workmate of my hubby so they quickly got into an animated discussion and i met the new wife who seemed nice but let me know they were getting reinstated asap.

  Of course in their mind, you "leave" by breaking one of their myriad rules and are deemed "unrepentant" by a janitor, a pool-man and a window-washer.

  all documents of important nature such as, our kingdom ministry, boe letters, forms, or other materials will now be sent only by email or private message communications.

  they will not be posted out here on the board.

  if someone else wants to post them, be my guest.. .. we have no other choice in this matter, and sending out confidential documents is better when it is done privately.
