the elder knew nothing about the scandal, but he stated that he had no issue with it since when the case was brought to light, the society acted immediately to right their course.
in fact he thought it was a sign that that the organisation was indeed the "truth".

I think this thing could really help as part of an overall strategy to reach our loved ones.
Steven Hassan frequently talks about the importance of reaching out in loving, non-critical of the cult ways that build trust and rapport. I really like his idea to, " Empower their Pre-cult (Authentic) self while simultaneously disempowering the Cult-Identity. "
Of course it's so hard or even impossible if we're being shunned. That's why I'm trying to find creative ways to sidestep this obstacle to connecting.

Does the WT have any legal grounds to go after "apostates" for defamation, slander, libel?
by never a jw inquestion to all those well versed in legal issues.
all jw's, when confronted with criticism, claim that apostates lie about the wt.
i always have wondered, given the litigious environment in which we live in western democracies, why the wts doesn't go after all those websites that publish so many "lies" about "the truth".. can this lack of action on the part of the wts be used as evidence of the truthfulness of the message in "apostate" sites such as jwfacts,.
