The perfect storm...time to exit the JW's
by Giordano inis this the perfect time to tell family that are still in that you are so upset/devastated/embarassed over the candace conti revelations and trial and what happened to her as a 9 year old witness that you need to step away from field service and the meetings and do a lot of private praying.
you've been stumbled badly and don't know what to think at this time.

This was my 'Sign'
by MsGrowingGirl20 inin my previous post i mentioned that i'm staying in the org because i think i got a sign from god...some of you asked a lot of questions about my sign and even shared the society's view on asking for signs which i didn't know.. i didn't disclose exactly what the sign was.. some of you asked me what it was and even stated that i know that you all would pick apart and prove that my sign was just a frivolous excuse to hold on to the org.. maybe you were right.. so i've decided to tell you all exactly what it was---no embellishments or exaggerations.
i would love to hear your opinions since i'm still in a terrible mess.sometimes i'm 100% this is not the truth then other times i'm 60%....i feel if god was giving me a sign i'd be 100% this is the truth you know?.
so i woke up that morning and organized to go meeting.

The Bible has accounts of people doing preaching work....
2 Peter 2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them —bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories.
...but they were bringing the wrong message. Just because preaching work is being done, does that automatically make it "the truth"?
The message brought door to door by the Watchtower does not even closely match the message brought by the 1st century apostles.

At this very moment at the Pic de Bugarach mountain in southern France thousands are gathering because they have been told the world will be destroyed in 2012. There is an alien spaceship in the mountain, and at the destruction of the world the alien ship will take anyone who is gathered nearby to a new world in space. Authorities predict 200,000 will be gathered by year's end.
Step 1 Convince people some superior being is communicating with you, and only you.
Step 2 Convince them the end of the world is soon, very soon.
Step 3 Convince them the only means to survive the impending destruction is to follow what the earthly leader is saying.

JW Study - OUT!!
by uk_ex_jw ina few months ago, i posted about a study who was getting baptised this summer at the upcoming dc.. we discussed a few things on fb.
i showed him evidence that the watchtower does not have the truth.
the last i heard was that he had gone to the elder's with the information i had given him.. i haven't heard from him since.. however, yesterday he contacted a jw, elder's son on fb.

I agree with Talesin. You might want to make contact now to prevent them from convincing him you are Satan incarnate and he "stays loyal to Jehovah". Convince him you are just wanting to help him have important information needed to make such an important decision.
BTW GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!
My, the WTs been having a rough time as of late...

It took me a long time to write this...i'm staying.
by MsGrowingGirl20 init took me a long time to write this....i'm being brutally honest...i am still a reg pioneer...three sundays ago,i was praying and asking god for a sign or something because i was so confused...i told him exactly what i needed to see for me to believe.i was feeling terrible--crying and feeling sick because i was so confused.ten minutes after, i walked into the kingdom hall and to my surprise--my prayer was answered!
i soooo wasn't expecting it, even though i prayed.
so this is where almighty god wants me to be,ii've reasoned.

Ms. GG,
When doing the preaching work will you be offering "full disclosure"?
Will you inform the homeowners that if they join, they will never be allowed to leave without severe consequences?
Will you inform them of the long list of scandals & false prophesies that you are well aware? Or will you keep that your secret?
If there are children in the homes you visit, will you warn the parents of the paedophiles scattered throughout the rank & file so they can make good decisions for their families?
If God had an organization (he doesn't) could this one really be it? Mormons also preach door to door as do some mainline Christians.
Can you in good conscience bring "the truth" to people without telling them the entire truth?

Why are you a Christian?
by GeneM ini was having a discussion elsewhere on the internet about why people believe and why people don't believe in god.. i am of the opinion that people believe in god, not for evidential reasons, but instead because they have some emotional feeling that god exists.
no amount of logic will make someone like this stop believing (any more than trying to talk someone out of being in love).
the same goes for athiests.

Never been a JW. Being a Christian (the 'born again' definition) is different than other faiths that involve simply choosing to believe and then doing a list of things and following a list of rules. My parents never took me to church, my family never talked about God, I never chose to be a Christian, but I am one. If I wanted to be an atheist I couldn't do it; too many things would have to be explained away or dismissed.

The Watchtower Taught Jesus Inspected His Domestics In 1917-1919, They Claim He Cleaned His Organization, Right?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inwe were taught in early wts publications our lord jesus christ inspected all religions throughout the earth.
all religions failed to meet our master's expectations, except this little group in atlanta's federal prison.
if jesus took a hand's on approach with these members, why has he not kept the modern day jehovah's witness organization clean?

Since they have changed virtually every doctrine & practice that Jesus "approved" of since 1919, doesn't that mean the Society itself has gone apostate?
Also, they want us to believe "the faithful, discreet..." parable is, apparently, the single most important teaching in the entire scripture yet Mark never mentioned it? Luke never mentioned it? John never mentioned it? Paul never mentioned it? It's just an obscure parable encouraging individuals to live righteously so they are found to be doing so when Christ returns.

NewChapter: "The way these people Sparlock others..."
Yes! "Sparlock" as a verb. I love it!!!!!
Sparlock (v): To throw away. To cast aside. To shun. To not have anything to do with. To regard as vile and unworthy of consideration.

I wish there were more JW's resisting the extreme elements within the religion
by Hermano ini wish there were more jw's resisting the extreme elements within the religion.
i beleive there are many who know some of the things they hear and read are whack, but stay because they think it's still the group god has chosen.
but there are ways to voice your opinion without being too vocal or disassociating:.

Is it true the Irish JWs refuse to shun family? Oh, if JWs would just say, "It's not Christian to shun family & I refuse to do it." That would be HUGE. What would they do... DF millions?
But, reality is, it's a big monsterous machine. Fall in line... or get run over.
