Which book of the Bible creates the highest number of awakenings?

so, it has been agreed that i will be reading the bible with my jw friends.

straight bible no wt.. we tried to start with matthew and move through the new testament.

i insisted on using the esvs i purchased from amazon for $.49 a piece so we could write in them.

A thoughtful study of just the 1st chapter of Hebrews will contradict the WT doctrine about 100 times.

Some tips...

- DO NOT get emotional even when you hear lots of non-sense. He'll mentally turn you off.

- Do not TELL him what to believe... phrase everything in the form of a question.

- Yes, by all means get your hands on a Kingdom Interlinear and read John 17:3, & Col. 1:16-17 (Why is "other" in brackets?)

- Ask him about the 144,000 who Revelation says are all male virgins from Jewish tribes who have never lied. (Do a search for the verses.) This describes NONE of the JW "annointed". After he says the 12,000 from each Jewish tribe is "figurative" ask him how you can add 12 figurative numbers & come up with one literal number.

You have a limited time before your "friend" will never speak to you again.

Agreed. Right now try to get your Dubs to vigorously defend that the "Annointed" are the F&DS, then when (if) the GB pulls the rug out from under that position later... bazinga. Being embarrased by their spiritual food providers will create some of that wonderful cognitive dissonance.

I picked up 2 things from the video. (implied, thank you 00DAD) young children are taught early on that...

1. jehovah is a god who "hates" (yes, this word is used in the video)

2. And jehovah is a god of conditional love. (toss the toy, Jehovah loves you)

Of course it doesn't say these things outright, it's MIND CONTROL. It only works when it's small, subtle, & not consciencely detected.

i have been thinking about the " need" for an organisation for xians... i mean the ee went on his merry way back to candace in ethiopia, a long way from the governing body of jerusalem and the effect of paul's letters so he must have done his worhsipping from a distance and without the "benefit" of the governing body's sage advice..... .

also another thing if i were on the "gb" of the first century i would be extremely miffed that paul was the one being inspired to write the fundamental doctrines of christianity, not me or my fellow older men.

I have successfully ended TWO different JW studies in the past 6 months. (The key of course is to get them early.)

All I do is sit down with them, go on Cultwatch.com & educate them quickly on the basics of mind control (I also let them "inadvertantly" see the list of cults with JWs on it without mentioning it). I have several WT quotes that demonstrate each characteristic of mind control which I calmly, & unemotionally show them. I also show them the responses from the post on here titled, "Sum up your experience as a JW in one word." I mention it's the #1 exited religion in the country. I also express how I feel sorry for the JWs because they're being lied to.

The response is always, "Oh my! THANK YOU!"

This most likely wouldn't work with an active JW with a brain in "stand by" mode.

How do I hear/feel God?

this is a serious question.. i know people that hear/feel god (and see postings about people's experiences), but i have not experienced this.

i have never heard anything audibly (or otherwise) nor "felt" anything inwardly.. i've prayed, read, quieted my thoughts, etc...but still nothing..

As one of the posters wrote "Bullshit" followed a few words later by "Love, kindness, mercy, joy, peace, long-suffering, forgiveness, compassion, pity, mildness, self-control" this board has once again demonstrated all the hypocritical tolerance of the Governing Body itself. I prefer a more hate-free environment.
