Christmas is WRONG!
by thesaint inyou all should be ashamed of your egotistical selves.
how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?
it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

I think my faith might be returning. Feeling very confused.
by jambon1 ini've been out the organisation for around 8 years.
when i first left, im positive that i suffered from some sort of post traumatic stress.
i was very angry at myself for accepting the really bad parts of the religion that i strongly disagreed with.

Sounds great. Get a non-NWT bible, read John then Romans, and then John then Romans as if you've never heard of any of it before. I think you might be surprised what you find.
Remember... YOU DON'T HAVE TO JOIN ANYTHING!!

FYI, the Amish share almost none of those characteristics. Don't get me wrong, it's a ridiculous group but certainly not JW-like.

JJ Abrams and the WTBTS.
by DATA-DOG inyou are probably wondering what these two subjects have in common.
well, i have been pondering something for quite some time.
i have been trying to figure out how explain the recent and huge doctrinal shifts of the wtbts since the 2012 annual meeting, and the accompanying modernizing of the jw official website.

One wrinkle... is JJ Abrams saying we must follow his films because God chose Gene Roddenberry's series as the only correct sci-fi franchise in 1977?

Do you think Born Agains are tired of waiting for the "Rapture"?
by booker-t inmy heart goes out to born agains that are still waiting for the rapture and jesus taking them to heaven.
they are no different then jws waiting for armaggeddon.
how much time must goes by before both groups say "enough is enough"?

Really? I don't know any Born Again Christians who are "waiting on the rapture". Any time future rewards are talked about amongst BAs, it's almost always in reference to rewards at death, hopefully in their 80s or 90s. Most think the same for their children, BTW.

The reason behind why the ex-JW community can never match Jehovah's Witnesses' success.
by Stand for Pure Worship inan average of five kingdom halls being constructed daily, almost 8 million brothers and sisters, dissemination of bible literature in 595 languages, 111,795 congregations worldwide, distribution of 179 million bibles available in 116 languages, 239 countries where jehovah's witnesses have a presence, etc.. need i go on?.
on the other hand........... crisis of conscience, freeminds, the awaa, jw.net, ummmmmm........hmmm........idk six screens or something?
not exactly working out for you guys.

179 million JW bibles produced and only 8 million JWs? People must not trust that bible for some reason.

John Lennon: Imagine.....
by confusedandalone inthere's no heaven...... it's easy if you try.... i am not a huge fan of the beatles, not a fan of john lennon really either.
however, this song is one that i think most people tend to like for its airy feel and sentiment.
the funniest thing to me is how the opening 9 words of this song really really really make one think about belief.. honestly for one second trying to imagine there is no heaven, it is easy if you try.

The world described in that song always sounded absolutely awful to me. Why didn't he say, "Imagine there's no music."... Because then he wouldn't be filthy rich.

Can one find God without studying the Bible?
by Dis-Member ini don't recall jesus ever once telling people that they should even read the bible to find god.. he said nothing about 'taking in knowledge' either.. .
he didn't encourage people to read the bible because 90% of people in his day couldn't read!
the bible was not read by most people, it was -heard- when someone else read it aloud.

I found God & became a Christian without reading the Bible, going to church, or being taught by anyone so, in my case, the answer is "yes".

Do you have any "one-liners" for drive-by witnessing?
by Faithful Witness ini am looking for things i can say in passing, when i meet some of my jw friends.
we used to attend meetings, but have not been officially recognized yet, as apostates.
we were good and curious students, but fell away and were choked out by weeds.. since i will be renewing my bible student status soon, i am hoping this will open more windows into the organization.

Why do you think the Mormons refer to their religion as "The Truth"?
