I have 6 Gallons of homemade apple wine sitting here waiting to be bottled. My mum thought it would be funny to pinch a bottle of the last batch and drink it when she was at a firends house one evening, they both ended up smashed, not very good for an uber-christian hey? :)

Any Homebrewers here? (more OT fluff)
by Bendrr ini finally broke down yesterday and "did something".
i did manage to last until about 5 pm, doing nothing.. i drove down to a homebrew supply shop and bought my first beer-making kit.
i've read the directions several times, as well as done some research on the net so i feel fairly confident that i can do it.

Where Eagles Dare - Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton. Great atmoshphere and story. Das Boot - The full length TV version was fantastic. Saving Private Ryan - Always reminds me of the time I spent listening to my grandad tell me about DDay. Platoon - It's good :)

I've already had my sister asking me what I was going to do. It must have been co-ordinated with my mum because she asked about 4 hours later and got most upset when I told her that I had finished with being told how to live by toilet cleaners and d*ckless control freaks.

JW's Should Not Wear Too Much Makeup Or Baggy Clothing Per New KM
by minimus inif you weren't quite sure how jehovah god expects you to dress, the april 2003 km helps us to see his viewpoint.
"well-arranged dress shows reverence for god" is the article that assists us to know god's feelings on these matters.
i will give you some quotes from the article: "soon we will have the privilege of being jehovah's guests at the 2003 ' give god glory' disctrict convention.

I put most of my library in a big box in the loft. Stuff like the Emphatic Diaglott and the Kingdom Interlinear Translation I kept on the shelf for reference. I have a cd-rom but I want to try and get the latest version from my brother in-law.

I have always had an interest in Astronomy and Science in general so a lot of the WTBS psuedo-science just didn't wash with me. I can remember studying the Creation book and hearing people say how good it was but feeling that it wasn't making sense or sound scientific arguments. Shunning was something else that I couldn't get my head around, I talked to disfellowshipped people simply because I could see how shitty they felt being cut off. And I will freely admit that I could never understand the reasonings used in a lot of the Watchtower studies. I thought it was me not spiritual enough, but now with hindsight I realise it was because they were total bollocks! :)

Funny people in your Congregation
by mattnoel inok so who has got stories about funny people in your cong,.
we had one guy who used to recite really long prayers, you would see people shifting from foot to foot as he recited extracts from the lords prayer in with his, he used to knock on doors and when they didnt answer shout through the letter box saying "i know your home" if they did actually come he would keep them talking for ages even after they said they werent interested.
he even wrote to tony blair and told him how he would die at armageddon, the society recieved a letter of complaint and he got banned from pioneering.

There was an elderly brother in a congregation locally, the head of a weird family, who had a cleanliness problem. Not that he was dirty or anything, just that he used to carry a bottle of water in the boot of his car along with a bowl, soap and a towel. After the meetings he was straight down into the car park and washing his hands. Didn't say much for his opinion of his fellow witnesses did it? :) My sister told me a funny story about another older brother from her area who was well known for getting his words in a muddle whilst giving talks. On one occasion he was describing Satan and saying how he was like an Octupus, "once he gets his testicles around you you'll never break free" apparently raised a few eyebrows and had several people leaving the hall tears rolling down their faces. Another time Aaron and his underpriests were renamed as Aaron and his underpants.

Isaiah Book Volume Two, Page 260: Scary?
by Room 215 inonce again, my wife left some of her wt literature within easy reach of yours truly, ostensibly in the hope that i'll pick it up and reappraise.
it's bookmarked with the current week's study material; anf frankly, if anything can reinforce my inclination to stay away, it's this drivel.
does it not dawn on any of these that all this hallucinogenic blather about 1918, 1919, 1922, etc.

You can have a debate......but only on the current beliefs. None of that messy old light stuff. When was the last change in the 'light' by the way? I can't recall if it was last week or the week before. :)

No no no no no! The New System is coming 'soon', it's imminent. Stay on your guard, be watchful, don't go to Uni or get an education, clean windows and pretend to be happy.
Let the Society worry about when the New System will be here and just concentrate on doing what you are told and obeying the bog cleaners et al down the Kingdumb Hall! :)
