in the last 4 months my eyes have been opened to ttatt, my biggest issue is that the elders have been grooming me to appoint me as an elder.

Check out a Unitarian Church in your area. They're usually pretty laid back and open minded. They vary largely in their teachings. We have two in town. One is fairly conservative, but still very laid back, and has more of a traditional church feel. The other is a Unitaian Universalist Church. It's totally non-denominational. Everyone from Agnostics to Buddhists to Christians there. It's for prople just looking for a community regardless of personal beliefs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unitarianism

I heard the San Diego Qualcom Stadium sold to a private investment group and no DA has been booked this year, true?
No, Qualcomm was not sold. It's owned by the City of San Diego. The WBT$ invested a lot of money and construction labor into the remodel of Jack Murphy Stadium in it's transition into Qualcomm. As a result they get a killer deal on the rental. They're not going anywhere.

Well, we used to have to drive to Dodger Stadium from San Diego back in the day. So now it's your guys' turn

Oubliette- What model S&W .40 cal do you have? I've been considering the S&W M&P Shield in either .40 or 9mm as another CC option. How do you like yours?

I pay the NYPD to be my firearm. I've always lived close to a precinct or near the donut/newspaper stores they frequent. They had better come protect me if I need help. It is a service I pay for with taxes.
Constitutionally, the police have no duty to protect you. Their job is to create an environment conducive to keeping the money rolling in for the government. Personally, I find it to be a lack of individual responsibility to expect somebody else to keep me safe, but to each their own.
"WASHINGTON, June 27 - The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation."

"By a 4–3 decision the court decided that Warren was not entitled to remedy at the bar despite the demonstrable abuse and ineptitude on the part of the police because no special relationship existed. The court stated that official police personnel and the government employing them owe no duty to victims of criminal acts and thus are not liable for a failure to provide adequate police protection unless a special relationship exists. The case was dismissed by the trial court for failure to state a claim and the case never went to trial."

shotguns are better for self defense
There are so many variables that go into this it's very difficult to say which is "better". My personal preference for home defense is an AR-15.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Both.
"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
