So, then - Why does the GB separate those who become doubtful out of fear they will stumble some? Jude specifically says to embrace this fear(of god?)while showing mercy to those who have doubts? It also specifically states that Jehovah will guard christians from being stumbled by these people. Why is the GB ignoring this advice? Are they claiming to know better than the bible?

SFPW. so basically what you're trying to convey is: somebody had been standing in the crowd and witnesses Moses and Aaron taking credit for what God did , and says "Hey, that's not right . Moses didn't do it God did." Then they confront Moses and Aaron and say, "You know what guys that really isn't correct. You both know God did it." Moses and Aaaron refuse to admit their false statement publicly and instead kick the person out for insubordination. Now God is going to punish that person? Yeah, somehow I don't think that's the way it's supposed to work.

it's been a long time since i posted here, but i lurk often, checking in on things in the jw world.

i have been out for 25 years, but have family still in.

none of them speak to me anymore, even though they used to quite often and quite regular, breaking all the shunning rules.

I agree. i think that once the big A happened JW's would begin to hope Jehovah wouldn't keep them safe and alive through the whole thing. They'd be much better off dying and waking up in a paradise created by a perfect greenhouse effect in which all the food they's ever need would be at their fingertips for the picking, including the fruit of the tree of life. I do kind of miss the delusion sometimes.... lol

LMAO. You guys sound like Jehovah's Witnesses trying to convince me that I'm just not looking at their beliefs from the correct perspective. Look, I've researched this topic considerably, including reading the book that this topic was based on. I just don't see how you get from point A to point Z without taking a few leaps of faith. Evolution, in regards to a theory as to how we all got here, is a very strong hypothesis. I think it's a little much to call it a scientific theory. You guys are free to have whatever beliefs you want in regards to the genesis of man and beast. I prefer to say that I believe evolution to be a more reasonable hypothesis than creation, but the truth is I can't say with certainty that it is factual scientific theory. If you choose to take a stance on one side or the other that's your choice. Mine is to say I can't say with certainty, nor can anyone else, and I'm okay with it.

This is where the term the "theory of evolution" gets tricky. If you're calling evolution organisms like bacteria, birds and mesquito's adapting to their environment then fine Evolution is a scientific theory. That can be proven through scientific observation and experimentation.

Take a bear as an example. they traveled further north put on some fat, developed longer hair etc, etc, etc. that is adaptaion that is considered an evolution. It is a scientific theory that could be proven through observation. Now once you start saying that a unicellular organism adapted millions of times to become the bear, that's still a hypothesis. So yes, in one sense "evolution" is a scientific theory. However, as a theory as to how everything came to be it is still just a hypothesis, and like I said a pretty strong one, because no one has ever observed it or done an experiment to prove it.

The problem with calling evolution a "Scientific Theory" is that, simply, it is not one. A scientific theory must be able to be repeatedly confirmed through observation and experimentation. Of course the theory of evolution has never been confirmed through observation or experimentation. Thus, it is still just a hypothesis, albeit a fairly strong one, or just a plain old theory.

Seriously? When I was a kid half the congregation wore Cowboy boots. The PO had these really fancy ones with silver tip covers and he always wore a bolo tie. I thought they all looked so goofy as a was a surfer dude stuck in hick town hell. lol. Now I love cowboy boots. Though I still can't stand the dressy ones.

In my experience, I find the Watchtower Organization is much like the military. If you have an issue with an order there is a chain of command to deal with it. In most cases you are free to have doubts, do your own research and draw your own conclusions. The problem occurs when you start sharing those doubts, research and conclusions outside of the chain of command. If you start sharing them with your peers and underminining your superiors you're going to get kicked out for insubordination(i.e. disfellowshipped). However, if you bing them up to the BOE privately and go through the correct channels you're usually good to go, and the usual reply is you just need to be patient. Of course this is not always the case as some men let their pride get the best of them, and you risk being made an example of for actually thinking. A thing that is supposedly encouraged by both the military and the WBTS, but also feared and quashed through indoctrination.

I'd vote for inviting them back on the winter solstice. Though I think I'd have them come over in the early afternoon. I'd open the door ass naked and say, "come on in guys I was just getting ready for tonights celebration. Would you guys mind lighting these candles while I finish setting up my evergreen? So what's the deal with this everlasting life thing?"
