What age should you get baptized?

as from today i am disfellowshipped.

my parents cant talk to me and alot of issues have arisen which i have mentioned in my other posts.

i got baptized at 14 and i think it is way to young to make such a decision which will affect your whole life.

Thanks for your comment Hortensia. I do have friends. Im also a single mum to a 10 year old too. Its a very stressful situation. Im just taking day by day at the min. Its really having bad affects on me physically. Are you disfellowshipped?

As from today i am disfellowshipped. My parents cant talk to me and alot of issues have arisen which i have mentioned in my other posts. I got baptized at 14 and i think it is way to young to make such a decision which will affect your whole life. I was pressured into it from my parents and others in the congregation. I think that if your not classed an adult till you're 18 then i think they should not let anyone under that get baptized. I know of a boy who was only 10 when he got baptized. Its insane! Any thoughts on this?

my uber witness cousin has 3 daughters, 2 that are very much jw's and one that isn't (she never went for it at all).

how does it work that he can see his way clear to have an almost normal relationship with her even though she's living "in sin" with a man and has several times in the past and she also has dabbled in drugs along the way.

i thought you weren't supposed to hang out with fornicators???

I know where you're coming from. I, from today, am disfellowshipped which means my parents cant talk to me. My older sister never got baptized and even though she has lived in sin and that they still can have a relationship with her. I was 15 when i got baptized and only did it because i felt pressure from my parents and others in the congregation. Was a very bad choice i made and was way to young to understand what i was doing. If my son ever got baptized and then disfellowshipped i could never break contact with him. I have a huge problem with the fact family members cant have contact with disfellowshipped family members. Family means everything to me and no religion can tell me otherwise!

Thanks again for everyone's comments. I just feel so overwhelmed about the whole situation. My parents were letting me live in their house the last 3 years while they lived elsewhere but now cause dad is an elder they have told me i have to move out. I cant afford to pay rent on my own. Im a single parent. The stress is unbelievible and is making me physically sick. Hope something comes up. Be great to have loads of money but unfortunately i havent.

I was born as a witness and its been all ive known. I feel guilty for hurting my parents. They cant talk to me now. I live in a small town and yesterday saw a witness and now im being totally ignored. Its such a horrible feeling. Wish i could move away but i cant.

Think it was announced yesterday that im disfellowshipped. Will these feelings of guilt and panic ever go away? My head is so messed up. My son has even been affected. Can anyone give me advice?

i was supposed to go to a judical meeting on sat but i told the elders i wasnt going but they held it anyway.

its going to be announced that im going to be disfellowshipped at the weekend.

hate the fact my parents wont talk to me anymore.

Thanks for everyone's comments. My parents have always had alot to do with my son as im a single parent and when im at work they mind him after school. Its all new to me so will see how things go.
