I am going to the gym then doing a quiz for my nursing program and then going to the local bar and grill to watch the game with wifey and friends. To think, just 3 years ago i would be going to the meeting wishing I could be at the local bar and grill watching the game. Or I would have been at home with the ex making stupid JW.Org buttons!

What will you do to celebrate Oct 2 2014?
by jwfacts inlike most people reading this, i was convinced that by 2014 the new system would 'definitely' have been operating for at least a decade.
now that i know this is not going to be the case i am going to have to think of some way to recognise 100 years of wts let downs and failed predictions.
there is no point fretting over the past so i think it will be a good time to celebrate.

Still nothing credible?
by Separation of Powers ini can hardly believe that anything new is gonna be announced at the annual meeting.
i mean, there is absolutely no one i know in this organization capable of keeping a secret and we haven't heard anything but "big changes are coming" "just wait and see" "big things are in the works" and my personal favorite posted by one of our members who was told not to diassociate because "things are gonna be announced that will change your mind".. no one i know at the hall or in positions of responsibilty has ever been able to keep anything confidential.
it's always been like the character on in lving color, "i aint one to gossip...but you didn't hear that from me.".

They are never getting rid of disfellowshipping, armageddon, 1914, no blood, preaching and 144000. These are cornerstones of the doctrine and too many would be stumbled to get rid of these. That does not mean that they cant tweak or change them a little.
Armageddon has not come and never will. They can spin it how ever they like but this is the undeniable truth! New light, old light it doesnt matter. Right now they are in survival mode. They are an animal caught in the trap of time. Are they willing to bite off their limb to survive? What ever they do to survive will leave this religion hobbled and disfigured and eventually, just like an animal that resorts to such lengths, they will end up dead anyway.

Come with me, back to the 1980s--you know want to.
by FlyingHighNow ini don't know about ya'll, but i did not appreciate the 1980s enough.
i was too busy lamenting how different they were from the 1960s and 1970s to bask in and appreciate how wonderful they were.. this is 80s music, especially new wave music, and 80s fashion and culture appreciation thread.
what did you love about the 80s?

i went to ACL festival last year. Depeche Mode played on Fri, the Cure on Sat and Lionel Richie on Sun. Didnt get to see Lionel Richie because of the flooding but the rest were amazing. It felt like I was magically transported to the late 80s.

I was born in the early 80s. Miss those years. Nintendo, Fraggle Rock and MTv. Favorite bands: Depeche Mode, the Cure and Tears for Fears. I remember watching the Thriller video and my mom saying how demonic it was haha!

Tower of Babel built by Babies!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inthe weekly tms bible reading assignment is not read, or not carefully read, by most of the sheeples.
it doesn't really matter, because the consideration of the bible reading material is one of the shortest parts on the meeting with a limited number of comments, and those comments are restricted to less than 30 seconds or you will get counselled.
over and over, the dubs are told to read the bible, yet the organization gives no real encouragement to read the bible by keeping everyone busy in the recruiting work and using relatively few scriptures in their "talks".. why?

CO's visit ends with a bombshell!!!
by nowwhat? inat the end of his final talk he said of the gb: they are telling the higher ups , "start getting ready we're not going to be around much longer!
" and we expect the angels to release the four winds any day now!
" my first thought was why are you building a corporate country club then?!

It is sad that they are sooo anxious for the killing of billions of people. Its even sadder that I used to eat it up.
