Are you sure leaving is a wise decision ?- Lurkers think twice- Part 2
by mankkeli inin the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.

haha. Let's compare you to cabbage then. It is all interwoven right?
No, it's not the same. How can you compare (insert any human name) to a full corporation stating they are the direct voice of God, promising salvation to millions. How can you state that is one in the same? How can you tell me a person can change their mind based on knowledge, that a person can be imperfect. Then say God, (because we are talking about a religion here that is based on GOD and NOT a man, right?) and say the outcome should be the same?
How can you then turn around and say WE shouldn't question or change OUR minds about the Borg, because it's not healthy. But it is okay for Borg to do it?

I want to drive lurkers far away, let them go and deal with their doubt with the elders, not to come here and here all sorts of rantings, complains and contempts. Let them go back to their elders and explain whatever they have in mind not to a place were chances are high they would be more confused than they were
Well. Hate to break it to you... but...

Ask yourself has JWN remained thesame since 2001?, No, It has changed. What could remain thesame in 133 years?, Please be sincere with yourself, you rightly acknowledge that only change is permanent in life, isnt it?. "Change" is a tool, It is the price we pay for growth and development, So, How should the JW organisation be exempted from utilising this tool?. If it has to grow and develop. It shouldnt be expected to remain stagnant. How do you expect an organization governing the religious activity of about 7million people not respond to changes. You know very well that govt policies, human behaviour and the environment are not static, they respond t change at all times, so you shouldnt expect a multinational corporation to be stationary.
Do you actually think before you type? JWN is NOT a religion. It doesn't profess to hold the key to everlasting life. It doesn't claim to be the one and only truth. It does not control our every thought and movement. We are not dedicating our lives to a message board. It is a message board, that's it.
So your comparison is ridiculous. However, JW’s DO profess all of the above mentioned teachings. They tell people to trust them. Because Jehovah directs them with true light through a faithful and discreet slave.
Comparing God’s ‘light and wisdom’ to be the equivalent of “govt policies, human behaviour and the environment” is absurd. You’re saying that Jehovah is chaotic, unstable and likely to change. So his chosen people must endure these “changes” (read:lies) as well? Really? An 8 year old can see the flawed logic behind this.
Also...
Anything with a human history is flawed.
Steve Jobs, Hassan, whoever you wish to point out as flawed. Is flawed, because they are human. Another absurd comparison on your part.
You're comparing men with knowledge/power to men that believe they are God's right hand and are infallible.
Sadly, your amazing trilogy will only contain the same run around.

Mankelli. I'm not sure what your point is. You say it's to empower people in cults not to leave. Most of us have left. We HAVE thought about it, long and hard. We HAVE made our decisions and stand by it.
Your repetitive speech lacks any insight, intelligence and is a moot attempt at accomplishing anything...because you're not changing anything.
If we say we're happy, we're happy. If that answer isn't convincing enough for your 'purpose', from hundreds of posts. Then you're at a loss.
Maybe you feel empty yourself and think the rest of us do. Maybe you work in the wrong field. Maybe you should go into social work or charity. Then maybe you can fulfill your honest and caring needs you speak of. Maybe you just want attention, or you're bored or are on the fence about leaving yourself. Either way you are wasting your time, and whatever you are doing is a waste of time.
We don't really want a part of it.

Are you sure leaving the JW religion has made your life better?. Lurkers think twice
by mankkeli inon this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.

Sounds like a lot of insecurity from the OP. Unless they are working on a statistics report for class. Our opinions shouldn't matter.
If the OP believes people should never leave the bOrg, because they are better off as productive members of the human race. Then why question it in the first place? The answer should be clear.

Peace and happiness. That's the best way to sum up my dub afterlife. Everyone, logically faces problems in life. I'm sure your life is not prefect Mankelli. Obviously, you like to question and wonder as well. We have all wondered if we made the right choice in leaving. The overall answer will be, yes.
I grew up with MT's, Elders, CO's DO's. I would watch entire congregations swoon over their presence. But they were just magicians, unhappy, restless and empty. They were all miserable, All of their relationships based on the lies they presented. Such a facade.
Seeing this my entire life, and comparing it with who I am now. I can definitely say, I lead a happy, full life.
If ignorance is bliss for some, then let it be so.

Weird things JWs can't own or wear
by lilbluekitty inalso posted on the yuku forum.. i thought it might be amusing to make a list of things i remember when i was a dub that we couldn't have or own or wear.
(some of these things vary by where you live, in other places dubs have them, it just depends).
obviously the list goes on forever, but feel free to add things.

Such silly rules. No wonder they're insane. The Congregations in the southeast tend to take up a notch.
and yes...
In some areas, extremely long skirts and dresses are considered immodest
I've noticed dubs treat people with incredibly pale skin and dark hair like they're worldly and "gothic"
Oh yeah goth clothes are considered evil and even if you just wear black a lot they think you're gothMy goodness, right before I left. Elders were hounding me for looking "goth" because I had dark hair and pale skin. So I took out baby pictures of myself to show it was natural. I'm not THAT pale. I am half Colombian. These elders were truly bored.
