The constant feeling that your not good enough is only reinforced everytime you go to a meeting.

by minimus inone of the most despicable things i can remember is having the elders determining whether or not you “qualified” for proper funeral services in a kingdom hall and if the talk could be given by an elder.
people are hurting terribly and the family is then told, even though the deceased was a member of the congregation, they still weren’t good enough to qualify for proper burial services per the congregation!

Struggling to Live a Lie
by Addison0998 init’s been very difficult, much more than i first anticipated to live a lie, (be pimo and a regular active member) i still live with my parents but i plan on moving out at the end of the year, so i really need to keep it together.
but i think people are starting to get suspicious that something is up.
i’ve stopped commenting, going on service all the time, talking at the door, and occasionally voicing something, such as a question that no one has a good answer for, that makes people think, but ahah, thinking is dangerous and wrong so that is suspicious of course.

I'm a longtime PIMO too... Know how hard it is too...
Lucky I suppose that I've never been that 'spiritually strong'... So I kind of fade into the background...
They told me I can count an hour service/a return visit and a bible study every week for my child... So on paper I look quite good although never do anything!
If what the guys on here are saying about the last video at this years convention is as bad as they say (not watched it yet)... I'm seeing that as my exit door!... Why would I want my child to watch that when I'm suppose to tell them we shouldn't watch 'worldly' films with similar content.

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.
