I think I might add, I am not mad at the USA, I am happy to be an American earthling. I have not live in another country, unless you count Sweden, but I don't remember. And maybe WTWizard knows something I don't know. I think I shall never insult my country. Which leads me to something I talked about yesterday to a nice Jewish lady. She said she has bumped into at least one person who said to her she killed Christ. So I said how dumb can people be, Jesus was suppose to die, it was in the "plan". Jesus! I love you Jesus.

Witnesses Ban gambling using no Scriptures only stupid logic...it's greedy! What?
by Witness 007 inthere is no scripture that ever said "thou shall not gamble.
" the bible never mentions gambling.
yet it's a disfellowshiping sin.

Do you think Witnesses would drink the "Cool-Aid" if told to do so...like Jonestown?
by Witness 007 injonestown 1970's, jim jones brainwashed his 900 member cult into committing mass suicide by drinking cyanide cool-aid.
only three escaped.
{the smart ones} one man hid under a building....another escaped into the jungle while armed guards dragged another member to get injected by force.

Really? My husband might have divorced me over that doctrine. We have four children and he was worried. We are happy, but only because my husband (who is an atheist) reflects Jehovah's goodness. (I wonder-not how that is possible?). We never had to decide, even for myself about blood transfusion, I trusted in Jehovah. I believe Jehovah will cause an avoiding of anything that might destroy me.

WTWizard You make me smile every time. Sometimes I laugh out loud at your posts, they think I,m crazy here. Your post reminds me of the many situations brother Raymond Franz found himself in. I know that if I did not agree with a resolution, I would not vote either way. Because, silly me, I believe Jehovah would do His will. Excuez-moi c'est bien. Merci.

May I say something stupid? Again. Dear man oh man thank you for the scriptures, they apply to my plan (not my plan, but the semi-plan of the Society). I hope they don't know about it. I mean I hope they do to fix it.
The soul that is sinning will die.
Jesus, the way, truth and life.
Obey Jesus, means on the way to life.
Disobey Jesus, means on the way to "suicide".
So are they not commiting very, very slow suicide now?
I'm reasoning from the scriptures, give me a break!
I looked up Ecclesiastes 7:12 this morning for something else
The Philistines worshipped the god Baal, if I'm remembering correctly.
The word for "possess" in Ecclesiastes 7:12 is baal.
So who is for possessing the Earth?
Is possessing the Earth someone's main goal in life?
I seem to remember there was group for possessing the Earth,
anybody know?
There was no harming of any "mentally diseased" in the posting of this post.
God bless You!

Hi! I am a believer, Christian, was a Jehovah's Witness for 18 years. I got the JW message as a result of the door to door preaching.
I am not a member of any church. I study the Bible on my own, I believe it is God's word, not literal, it's spiritual.

Sorry I was thinking of the life shaking resolutions at conventions.
The other kind of kingdom hall stuff, I didn't care one way or another.

How many of you haven't fared too well since your exit?
by i_drank_the_wine ini know that i've had a hard time piecing things back together after losing my wife and family a couple years ago and haven't really gotten the ball rolling to say the least.
just curious to hear if anyone else is in the same boat, or was in the same boat and how long it took them to get a "new life" figured out and going..

sistif A warm welcome to the forum! Please do not sleep in the basement if there is dampness. You do not need the burden of getting physically sick with what you have to bear right now. Go for a walk, if you can, each day, it is a good way to clear your thought to good thoughts. Jesus loves you like crazy! Peace and love.
i_drank_the_wine, me too, I too drank the wine. God has blessed me with hang-overs so I don't often abuse the privilege of having a couple of drinks now and again. Take each day as it comes. Take care of the essentials, enough sleep, plenty of water, and some excersize each day. Look at the stars, where I live, away from the city, I can see all the stars, like a milky way. I am 55 and I don't ever remember seeing so many stars. Stand in the wind! Avoid TV unless you are pleased with what is on. Do not let it become a habit. (my habit is Law and Order). Make it to the end of bad, you will be happy you did. Do not go back to bad. Peace! Justice will prevail, be sure to be there!

Voting. Can vote...can't vote. OMgoodness I'm so confused, what to do???????
Down with resolutions! IT IS AGAINST JW LAW. I voted, that last vote about
everyone has to think the same at convention, I don't remember if I voted,
but I sent a letter to the Governing Body. THEY DID NOT RESPOND. Then I knew they
were not Christians.
Your question stillin reminds me of the out of world experience I had a few times.
They would say something from the podium, I would be like huh? and I'd look around
at all the faces I could see, and think "did they hear what they just said???"
