What bothered me so much in the org is they spend all thier time getting ready for then and ignore so many oportunities to just be nice NOW.

Thank you! shamus100, I hope you are so happy, I think you make lots of people laugh! God bless! I have tiny memories of my childhood. I can never write a biography, because I don't remember. But I remember one instance in elementary school, what year, who knows? I sneazed and nobody said "bless you". I still remember that.

We don't know (thread viewed 40 times), but I think there are two probation periods. which one are you asking about? The first one has daily limits for posting, the second one, I believe when broke, gets you permission to write a biography on the members details page.

I would like to introduce myself belatedly please. I am a middle aged married female. I am an inactive Jehovah's Witness. I was active in the organization for approx. 18 years, not counting pre-baptism. I was baptized in May 1991 (remember being told to remember the date?). I was introduced to the organization via the door to door ministry. Before that first contact, I knew nothing of them. I liked the free bible study and being visited by adult humans as I was home alone with two little girls and unemployed. I was not impressed by the meetings on Sunday nor by the Book Study meeting, but when I finally attended the Theocratic school, that is what decided it for me. I have not sent a request for disassociation to the org because I concluded it is thier rule to do so which I did disassociate myself from the Congregationalist Church, because it was something I was told to do. When I did, I left the pastor a song book, because I believed "Jehovah" was a mystery to most people. Come to find out later, my mom's Bible was an old one which had God's Name spelled out, not in one or two places, but everywhere it was.
I hope to make some friends here. I am enjoying reading the posts. God bless you all. Oh, I am a Christian. I believe Jesus. I trust in no man. I am manic, some of you know already by my posts, but depression does not often hit me. I am here very often, might have something to do with being a little OC. (obsessive). I also have a blog, I am on facebook, and I train my mind on Lumosity. I collect buttons. I am happy to be here and I am happy you all are surviving some terrible ordeals.

by bushido8000 init has become very apparent to me very quickly that this forum is dominated by ex-jws.
i have many questions and topics to present but i first want to know who i am presenting these questions and topics to so i have 2 questions that i would like as many of yall to answer as possible.. .
question 1: did you leave the organization out of the blue or were you first disfellowshipped?.

Can I say bravo Magwitch, what a story. If you are in good health after all that mental torture, it is a miracle! God bless you.
AGuest, 14 meetings? Got nothing better to do, naw, I like to come to get hit over the head with your false reasoning, anyway being here gets me away from Satan, who has more power than God, right? No? I am happy to read your post about Judas, I wondered how they had come to the conclusion they teach about him not being there, because the Bible doesn't say. Thanks for the post! God bless you.

Moulding our JW Children
by angel.face inevery year, at the beginning of the school year i prepare a letter for my daughter's teachers saying 'we are jws don't celebrate this....no anthem....here are some suggestions..blah blah".
and here's our 'jws and education' brochure from 1969, a bit outdated but you know, it's spiritual food at the proper time.
besides, its an easy placement.

Obeying all the commands of the leaning on the understanding of the Governing Body [that is leaning on one's own understanding (the GB has the correct understanding), and leaning on thier understanding of understanding]OMG is this where they are magic practicing? OK, yes I do have a point. The point is why do the persons loyal to the GB obey men? Is the reason why they obey is so they do not die at armagedinoutofhere? But Jesus said at Matthew 16:25, Mark 8:35, Luke 9:24, John 12:25. Who do they lose thier soul to? I think I know the answer. They say it is DEATH, but I say it is they actually lose thier soul to the Governing Body. It's like a science fiction novel, but it is sad and more than a little scary because it is not fiction, but it is real. My husband would not let me inculcate the children (I have four), and I was OK with it, because truth for Earth is not mature yet, I knew that. God bless you angel.face, and may Jehovah give you power, peace!

Hi! Wecome to Democracy! I did not read the footnotes.
We have a saying in English "Truth is stranger than fiction". That is what I thought of your story.
It's a good mini novel. I am very happy for you finding friends and finding God.
I have read the whole Bible, I agree with you wholeheartedly it is a good thing to do.
I read it out loud, like the kings of Israel were commanded to do.
I think it is easier to remember that way.
TRUE RELIGION is Christ the head of all, God the head of christ.
When someone comes to your door to help you, it means obedience to
the law of headship, not the law of the truth, all of it.
Also, man is made in God's image, so when man does something in God's name
it does not mean the man's religion is righteous, it means the man is doing something righteous.
Seek Jehovah, seek meekness, seek righteousness, please do not settle on religion.
May God bless you. Thank you for posting. I liked your story (I believe it, why not?).
You speak English understandablely, and where small mistakes are made, it's funny.
Funny is good in the democracy.

Practical ways we can assist and improve the lives of jaydubs.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. init's time all you mentally diseased and demon possessed heathen ex-jws acknowledged the fine works being achieved by the brothers.
afterall, there are many here who continue to espouse the ruputed fact that the jws they know, or are related to, are decent, honest, loving persons.. perhaps it's just me, but as i reflect, i wonder, where were all wonderful persons when i was in the cult?
a 'good' jw is a mythical creature, much like their god.. but anyhow, putting that aside - what are some down to earth practical ways we can help the brothers?.

Holy Cheese, I saw what you saw in the org. I think the reason why the "friends" are not so kind is twofold.
One reason is they are kept so busy keeping up with the watchtower they hadly have time for kowing even where a kind word is needed.
The other reason is Watchtower has them believing that it is their field service which satisfies their natural desire to be kind in God's image.
Are they not to tired to be friendly?
