I suspect "this" means the leading of the holy spirit.

It might be what leads you (holy spirit) not who leads.
"Obey the that which leads you". (Hebrews 13:17) The word "leaders" as in the NWT Strong's identifies it is used just once. The previous verse says do not be forgetting the doing of good. Only God can judge what is good. So what leads a person to do good is the Holy Spirit. That which leads is not "who", but is WHAT.

Yes. It is taught at meetings that "bad associations spoil useful habits" means if you don't keep yourself without spot from the world your standing with Jehovah will suffer. Whenever someone leaves the org they become "the world". So loyal JWs will not associate with anyone who has left by order of the Governing Body because it is they who teach that someone leaving them is leaving Jehovah, therefore becomes a traitor of truth and not to be associated with.
I have lost my friends. I am happy to say that I have no family members that were JWs.
To be losing friends (and family) because of a lie and misplaced loyalties is what I call a repercussion.
I have three close friends that I have not heard from. One does not see me anymore just because I said "I don't go to meetings anymore".
Someone who says there are no repercussions from leaving are not caring much about friendships in my opinion.

Abuse - Physical, Sexual and Mental
by usualusername inhate to bring this up but i have been looking at some youtube videos on evil people and many times commentators refer back to people childhoods.. .
in many cases mental abuse has horrific impact on children.. .
any abuse is wrong but do some forms have longer impact than others?

There are some kinds of mental/emotional abuse that are very hard to prove.
Neglect is one. Maybe no name calling or physical contact, but there is not interaction and/or communication either. The children are not told what is expected of them in the social context, or what is told is not explained well.
There is another kind. It is a squelching of behavior that the squelcher does himself/herself. It is showing a double standard. Double standards are confusing and not nice. It teaches that an elder can do something even though he has had time to learn that it is wrong, but the child should not do it even though he has not been shown (taught) that it is wrong yet and has had no time to learn it.

That is a comprehensive list of infractions that are true and the reason why many of us are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses.
I agree JWs will never be reformed. There are too many doctrines and habits needing changing.
But wouldn't it be wonderful if they could get rid of it all except the Buildngs and the Bible and finally figure out what it is all about?
Did they not start out as a people looking for the truth?
I think it is a good original post to bump up.

So? What makes The Organization of Jehovah's Witnesses any worse than any other "imperfect" organization?
They BELIEVE they will HAVE the Earth.
The Catholics taught the Catholics would HAVE Heaven. Maybe Jah thought that was funny.
But it is not funny that people are being taught that they will have the Earth. Groups of people who want the land under someone else causes WAR.

That is a good list of the bad things the JWs do. I have not seen a list before. Good work. Thank you for sharing it.
It is hard to imagine that telling the truth has become the worst apostasy from the point of view of the Watchtower Society. "Walking in the truth" they ARE NOT.

DISCUSSION WITH A JW; YOUR INPUT PLEASE...

On what basis does Jehovah God consider Aaron to be Moses' prophet in speaking God's word to Pharaoh as a substitute for Moses?
Exodus 7:1
Aaron was to be Moses' spokesman (prophet) NOT God's prophet. In other words Aaron would speak for Moses. Aaron was not speaking for God.
Look up 2 Corinthians 5:20. It seems that the NWT has added "substitute" were it does not exist.
The correct interpretation looks like "ambassadors FOR Christ" as though Christ IS a Kingdom.
