my wife found this 1/4 page ad on page 2 of yesterday's nj star-ledger, probably the biggest newspaper in nj.

I think all of us, including myself, who live in the NYC, tri state area, and have access to this newspaper, should grab a copy, and make HUNDREDS of photo copies of this advertisement.

We then should carefully cut out the advertisement, perhaps even wearing latex gloves, so as not to "dirty" the copies with fingerprints. Then place them in an envelope, and anonymously mail them to EVERY JW we know. Including Elder bodies, pioneers, publishers, EVERYONE.

That will "grow" the "buzz" in spades. There will be NO denying that its "just rumor", when they are literally holding a copy of the add in their hands.

This is an add, in newspapers, in the NYC area. This is in, or near the same state, that the WTS HEADQUARTERS are in. Not some far away town, or small rural state, or another country, NOPE, right in their own backyard. In fact, we should make copies of this ad, and MAIL THEM TO BETHEL by the thousands.

ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE!. They will reap, what they have sown.

All those who are in the NYC/NJ area, and have access to this paper, including myself, PLEASE help by getting copies of this, out there to as many JW's as you can. Make it so they CANNOT deny it. Make it so they CANNOT disregard it. Make it so they CANNOT sweep it under the carpet, and try to hide, like they always have in the past.

Lets BLOW THIS UP!!!!!! Lets make copies, and start a mailing campaign, without having to write a word, just a copy of this ad. Post them up in public places. Make fliers, put them up on public boards. Get it out there.

Heck, JW's have been leaving stacks of literature in peoples doors for YEARS, why not leave some stacks of copies of this add, at the front door of every Kingdom Hall within driving distance.

PLUS, as I stated in the other thread I started about this ad, there is actually a TV commercial being aired, as we speak. For all those that haven't heard, its a commercial from the Weitz and Luxembourg Law firm, asking if anyone has been sexually abused by the Jehovahs Witnesses SPECIFICALLY, to call for possible financial compensation.

Between us getting copies of this add out there, and the public TV adds, it will be very hard for the average JW to NOT take notice.

This is BIG, but we can help, in a small way, to make it an even bigger impact, perhaps even reaching those young ones, and others that were abused, helping them to get justice.

Lets get our copy machines out friends! It is time!

ok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

@ stan livedeath - That would be the legal version of "insider trading", and would be totally illegal. If this was the case, and I seriously doubt it is, and the WTS was trying to under handedly play both sides of a serious legal matter, they would be IDIOTS. They 100% would be caught, especially as facts were presented, and it would result in major, corporation crushing fines, that they could never recover from.

I almost wish they would do that, it would actually contribute to their own demise QUICKER.

Indeed he did, Stuckinarut2, indeed he did. The fruit coming from the tree, that is the ORG, is quite rotten of late. The trees roots have been feeding on the soil of failed doctrines, blood of the innocents, sexual abuse scandals, breaking up of families, and lies within lies, and now the tree is SICK.

The fruit is molded, and rotten, it is poison to ones lips. The branches are cracked, and withered, dry to the touch. Its trunk is hollow and weak, a husk of its former self. No more do birds sing upon its limbs, and flowers bloom within its leaves. No more are nests built for the nurturing of animals, and raising of life within its branches.

Instead worms feast upon its flesh, and fungus and mold grow, where once there was beauty. Its colors of life, and pleasure, once vibrant and glowing, are now brown, and black dead with decay.

Here comes the axe of destruction. The mighty chops are being wielded now. The final blows, that shall fell the rotten tree, have been dealt. We are witnessing the destruction of this rotten CULT. In one final blow, down, down, the mighty, rotten oak tree is falling, never to be missed, or heard from again.

I just realized something about the picture in the above add. It looks to be a "brother" holding his bible, while going door to door, and speaking to someone who has answered the door.

What is one of the biggest things JW's are known for? Going door to door preaching. If things like this newspaper add, and the TV commercials, start scaring the public into thinking a pedophile, or sex abusing predator, may very well be knocking on your, I bet it will cause quite a few heads to turn.

This add seems to not only be an attempt to get financial justice for those abused by the ORG, but also as a warning sign, against the "sexual predator in the suit, holding the bible, that's coming to your door, calling himself a Jehovahs Witness".

The picture speaks a thousand words.

Thoughts on African Americans and Slavery

let's start by saying that slavery is of course a terrible thing, one of the worst crimes imaginable, and that "slavery" rarely implies good treatment, anything noble or defensible.

nowadays, even god doesn't escape judgement from our enlightened views with passages about slavery in the bible usually glossed over because they are shameful.. but not all slavery was equal.. because of the media, movie industry, racial tensions in the us regularly shown on the news and our taught history, i think most people's knowledge and idea of slavery is that of the north atlantic slave trade where white people took africans to work in cotton fields.

this idea is probably also re-enforced because the largest group of descendents of slaves we see today are african americans (usually in the us or places they subsequently migrated to).. but it's incomplete.. it's only when you look into it more that you discover that there was much more to the slave trade than that, otherwise it would have been just called "the slave trade" and not "the north atlantic slave trade".. some 12.5 million slaves were taken from africa to the us with just under 11 million surviving the trip so it obviously took a terrible toll immediately, even before any maltreatment once they landed in the americas where conditions and treatment were truly awful.

During the height of the Roman empire, one third of ALL of its population were slaves. For every 3 people, one was a slave. This is why the Slave rebellion of Spartacus was a serious matter back in ancient Rome. If a third of the population rose up, they would have had quite the impact on the empire, possibly able to collapse it. The Roman leaders, had to be swift, and decisive in its crushing of the rebellion, otherwise their doom was at hand.

While the Roman empire was vast, and encompassed many lands, and peoples, both far and wide, it was still mostly a European empire. Its citizens, and in turn its conquered peoples, were mostly European in descent. Hence, most of its slaves, over a third of its population, were white, Europeans. Yes there were, some black slaves, but most of the Roman, rich, elite class, of slave holders, held European persons as slaves. Even some wealthy, upper class, newly made Roman citizens, of AFRICAN descent, held slaves of white, Europeans.

If we are to believe the account in the bible book of Exodus, we read about a middle Eastern, Egyptian empire, enslaving a whole nation of Jewish people. The more we go back into history, both recent, and ancient, the more we realize that almost all peoples, nations, and ethnic groups, can claim slavery as an injustice that is held in common.

Not only did they SPECIFICALLY mention Jehovahs Witnesses, they ONLY mentioned Jehovahs Witnesses. This is an add aiming for, and ONLY for the BORG.

Its not like they said, " if you are a victim of sexual abuse from a religious organization, please call". NOPE, it was ONLY if you were sexually abused by Jehovahs Witnesses. Evidentally, the law firm must be aware of the horrible policies of the JW's, and its "2 witness" rule, and its protection of PEDOPHILES.

Their sins have amassed high unto the heavens, and now the world is taking note. My, how the mighty have fallen.

The domino's have been falling for years, but now it is occurring at a rapid pace. This CULT is collapsing right before our very eyes. The sands in the hourglass have been falling for years, but we are NOW seeing the sand at the bottom, nearly all of it falling away, and faster than ever.

The BORG is SCARED, and they should be. They are getting it from EVERY direction. The lawsuits, the internet, the youth leaving, NO growth, the lay offs, the stopping of construction, the closing of branches, the scandals, the multi generation BULLSH@T, the watered down doctrine, the scare tactics with DFing, the list keeps growing, and the BORG keeps collapsing.

Breakfast of champion, THANK YOU for posting this. It backs up the thread I just started a few minutes ago, myself. My Father, who IS a JW, actually saw a commercial on TV, during the Serena Williams tennis match lastnight, AND today during the Kardashians show, on the "E" entertainment channel.

I just posted a whole thread about it. My Father is in the NYC area, and it was aired on his cable TV network. I am thinking now, that this might be regional thing, and maybe it wasn't a national commercial he saw, since the add your wife saw, was in the NJ paper. BTW, I live in NJ, and I can verify that the Star Ledger, is indeed a HUGE paper in NJ.

The TV commercial my Father saw, was a Law firm, specifically asking if you were ever SEXUALLY ABUSED by the Jehovahs Witnesses, to please call their law firm, for possible financial compensation. I have seen these types of commercials for years, but usually they are about medical malpractice, or if you suffered a medical condition from taking a certain medicine, to call "Our law firm", but NEVER about sexual abuse, and JW's.

This is HUGE my friend. This is an add in a newspaper in the NYC area, AND a commercial on TV, specifically about JW's, and sexual abuse. WOW

First off, I would like to say that I did NOT personally see this commercial. However, it was seen by someone that I can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own Father who saw it. I wrestled with whether or not to post this info, without first having seen it with my own eyes, but I decided that it was best to put the info out here, and see if an others saw the commercial.

Anyway, I got a call from my Father today, who BTW, is an active JW. My Father is, however, very much "awake", and knows TTATT. He asked me if I had seen the commercial on TV, that was a law firm, specifically saying, if you are someone who was SEXUALLY ABUSED by anyone from the Jehovahs Witness religion, to ANONYMOUSLLY call their law firm, and that they may be entitled to financial compensation.

Mind you, the first thing I asked my Father, was "what was the name of the law firm", "was it a national or local commercial", and "did it only mention Jehovahs witnesses"? In answer, my Father said he did not write down the name, and he couldn't tell if it was a local, or national law firm, but YES it ONLY mentioned Jehovahs Witnesses.

My Father, and I are in the U.S., and in the N.Y.C. area. He said he saw the commercial lastnight, at around 9 o clock at night, EST. It was aired during the Serena Williams tennis match, on the ESPN channel. I thought that it was kind of interesting that it was aired during a Williams sister playing tennis, that's kind of weird. He also, saw it AGAIN, today at around 1 to 1 30 in the afternoon, EST, on the "E" entertainment channel, during, of all things, The Kardashians. Lol, I think I may be a bit more disturbed my Father was watching the Kardashians, but that's another story, lol.

From what my Father said, this commercial was done in the same way, as many other American law firm commercials are done, and aired all the time. Usually, however, they are for if you were a victim of medical malpractice, to call, or if you have taken a certain medication, and then suffered a medical problem from it, to call such and such law firm. Here in America, or at least in the New York City area, we see these types of commercials, quite often. That being said, myself, and my Father, have never seen one about sexual abuse, and NEVER concerning Jehovahs Witnesses. This is definitely new, at least in my part of the world.

This is very shocking to me, and I find it to be quite telling. I have to know if anyone here saw this commercial, or has seen one like it. Again, maybe I am late to the party, and getting excited for nothing, but I really think this is a BIG DEAL.

I want to say, again, that I did NOT see this commercial with my own eyes. Believe me, I wish I did, but the source, my own Father, DID see it with his own eyes, and twice, on 2 different cable TV channels, within 24 hours. I do not know if these are local commercials, or national, or if the law firm is in the NYC area only, or not. Also, I live in the next state over from my Father, and our cable carriers are different from each other, so I have no idea right now if these commercials will be aired on, or thru, my cable network, but I assure you, we are both on the look out for more.

My Father said, last night, when he first saw it aired during the Serena Williams tennis match, he just caught the tail end of the commercial, and was taken by complete surprise, hence why he didn't really catch the name of the law firm, and such. He did clearly hear them say JW's, and sexual abuse, and is 100% sure of it. I did tell him that if he sees it again, to PLEASE write it down, getting the name of the Law firm, and whatever other details more clearly. I hope he does see it again, and if and when I get ANY more info, I WILL keep it posted here.

Lastly, I know perhaps, there may be some that are gonna balk at this, and perhaps not believe it to be true, especially since this info is at its "infancy" stage, in terms of detailed information. All I can say is that what I am saying is 100% TRUE, and I stand by it, as a 42 year old man, Father, and HONEST human being. Other than seeing the commercial with my very own eyes, having my Father see it, is practically the same thing to me. This is why I felt COMPELLED to post this info, and stand behind it. As more information is gathered, I will post it.

Did anyone else see this commercial, or one like this? I really hope so, lol.

Who is Gog/Magog?

ezekiel spends two chapters (38-39) describing a war that either will never take place, or which has yet to take place.

according to the prophecy, the warlord gog, of magog, will 1) sweep down on israel, covering the land like a cloud.

this will happen in 2) the latter years when israel will 3) be a people “gathered out of many nations” and peoples.

This whole Gog of Magog thing, I am not sure whats going on there. But, that whole Bilbo Baggins, quest for dragons, and rings, that Cofty touched on, now that's something I can follow, and get behind. That shit seems MUCH more realistic, and I think we have MORE of a chance that THAT was our actual history, than Gog, and his buddy Magog.
