this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.

at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

EJ257 - Welcome! One thing you may not be aware of, yet, but the "down sizing" in Bethel, and reduction in literature, is NOT because the WTS is "aware" of the impending end, but is because the WTS is experiencing huge FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES. They are on, or at the brink of financial collapse. Its been about 20 years in the making, and its now come to "critical mass". These are the ONLY reason for them decreasing ANYTHING.

Being a parent myself, i find it mind boggling that parents would rather give their financial possesions to a multi-million dollar corporation, that perverts the meanings of Christian love, than their OWN children. The kicker too is, how many JW's were born in, and raised by the WTS from infancy. Due to this being the case their parents, most of the time, never directed them towards college, or even just setting up ANY kind of stability financially for their future. To, then, on top of it NOT will anything to these same children, is such a slap in the face, it could almost be considered ABUSE.

So, you raise your children in a dooms day cult. You indoctrinate them from infancy thru fear and manipulation. You discourage them from any financial planning, further education, and "skills" to survive in this real world , basically leaving them "helpless". Then at your twilight years, instead of, ATLEAST making up for it, by leaving them SOMETHING/ANYTHING, that could help them survive this world that they prevented them from preparing for in the first place, they just leave you "high and dry". Its criminal, and so angering, to me, that this happens. The WTS doesnt deserve this money, they deserve to be held accountable, instead. Their time is coming, though. Their reckoning is coming. . . . . .

OK, guys, i just watched the video, lol. WTF was that? First of all, can someone PLEASE tell me, is this an ACTUAL Watchtower video? Or is this a joke? Or did someone compile a bunch of clips together? What is/was the purpose of the video? If it IS aWatchtower video, does anybody know what they are saying, or what the point is of it? Lol, i appreciate it.

@ - Phaedra - That SUXS, so sorry to hear that. If you dont mind me asking, how do you know this? Did they come right out and actually tell you this?

One thing your parents may not be considering, is the fact that the WTS will NOT take care of THEM in their elderly/infirmed later years. Its easy for your parents to say this, while they are healthy and able to care for themselves, but as we get older and older, our bodys most of the time do NOT cooperate with us.

Sometimes, older parents need to be put in nursing homes, or may need EXPENSIVE home care. They also, most of the time, NEED this care to be orchestrated, and or actually administered by their children, YOU.

If they own a home, for instance,or have bank accounts, and the house and accounts are in their names, the nursing home WILL be entitles to these things, as payment for care. Also, even if the house is put in YOUR name, it takes 5 YEARS before it is considered YOURS. This law prevents someone switching a home into their childrens name, as soon as they get sick. It must be done in preparation, BEFORE, and it takes 5 years for it to become "legitimate".

Maybe you could tell them this, so that they make YOU the executor of the estate. Tell them you are doing this for THEIR sake, so that you will have the RESOURCES to care for them as their health fails. If they "will" things to the WTS, which is a corporation that WILL NOT help take care of them in their "twilight years", they could very well be giving their money to a "worldly" nursing home anyway. Also, maybe without coming out and saying it exactly, but you could "imply" that YOU will NOT be able to help them, because you would not have the financial means to do so.

If they make YOU the executor of the estate, you can guarantee that you will use the estate/money to care for them, and if they did that you probably would WANT to help them. If they didnt, well, you get the point, lol.

Present it to them under the guise of looking out for THEM, and wanting to be able to help them in later years, which the WTS will NOT.

My JW parents, who are in their early 70's, have put their mortgage free, $900,000 dollar, 2 family home in a borough of NYC, home, in MY name 2 years ago. They did this in anticipation of the future. If and when they get older, and need care, a nursing home will NOT have access to their home. They also, have put ALL their bank accounts in mine, and my sisters names, too, and for the same reasons.

My parents KNOW that my sister and i, WILL make sure they are taken care of in their twilight years. They have shown that they are "looking out" for me, and I will be "looking out" for THEM.

The Ages Of The Biblical Patriarchs

so i've been reading the imitate their faith book (because my wife wants to) and keep coming upon these ridiculous ages for the bible patriarchs.

now i know wt takes everything literally but there has got to be some explanation that makes more sense.

why would the bible writers create these obviously false ages?

Actually, if we were to "beleive", the complete story, then the reason they would have lived to such a ripe old age, is because they were closer to the "pure" stock of Adam. If we beleive the account, and Adam was created perfect, then the successive generations closest to him would have been closer to perfection, hence able to live longer. As more and more generations continued further and further from the original, perfect man Adam, then their life span would have lessened and lessened.

I am not in any way saying that i beleive this, i am just saying that it is an "explanation" for THIS STORY, and why the humans CLOSEST to Adam would have lived longer. Although Adam "sinned", and lost everlasting life, he still would have been as close to perfect as any human ever was, and his initial offspring/generations would have been closer to that pure, strong stock. We today, would be the furthest from that, both "dumbed" down and weaker, if we beleive the story as actual fact/history.

has there been any discussion about why jehovah would guide his people to a polluted property to build their world headquarters?

WOW, i guess the WTS never heard of a PERC test before, lol. All they needed to do, was get a soil sample from a few "strategic" places around the property. Do a ground bore down to 6 to 8 feet, and get the soil tested. It is very simple, and any real estate attorney, property inspector, or even an average layman, knows this should be done. Especially, on a major land purchase like this one, where there was a huge commercial company operating on it for years.

I have bought about a dozen multi-family, residential homes, over the years, and even i knew to get them PERC tested before i closed on them. These were just residential properties, nothing commercial, but there could still be underground, buried, oil tanks, on the property leaking oil. In fact, i happened to find out about a buried oil tank, BEFORE i fully closed on the property, by doing a soil sample PERC test.

This is just basic stuff, nothing mind blowing. The fact that the WTS did a MAJOR purchase like this, without checking for contaminated soil, is absurd. They either, do things on their own, in house so to speak, and have no outside attorneys advising them, or they have very stupid people working with them.

If they think they are going to sue the previous owners, they are going to be in for a rude awakening. 99 percent of the time, once you close on a property, YOU are responsible for it from that point. All purchasers of property, have a right, BEFORE hand, to get all inspections, and to do, due diligence. Once you close on the property, YOU are then responsible for whatever is wrong with it. The ONLY time, this would not be true, is if the seller of the property KNOWINGLY, or fraudulantly, hid that it was contaminated. This is very hard to prove, hence why the responsibility is on the purchaser to do their tests, BEFORE hand.

These tests, typically, are not even that expensive, but they ARE the would be purchaser's expense. So, maybe, the WTS is so cheap, they didnt go for the SMART, additional expense of a soil test, and got screwed. I bet that if they did not do any proper testing beforehand, then they have NO leg to stand on now. They could be, truly, and rightly SCREWED on this deal. It is now their responsibility to clean up the property.

Personal thoughts and evaluations upon the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization

from my own personal feelings about the jws when i was involved and i was brought up in the is religious practice from birth, was one of feeling of being lied to, exploited and manipulated to a certain extent.

reflectively though i could see some wholesome social behavior direction being propagated not surprising nevertheless since this faith is based from christianity at its core.. where and how the wts/jws got bit corrupted i believe is that this organization has always had a publishing house and its core operation and supporting finances were mostly from that endeavoring operation.

this also included creating doctrines which were to support and enhance the proliferation of those published works.

There are MANY aspects to consider, when thinking perspectively about the WTS. Yes, it is true that there are Christian beleifs at its core, but it ends there. There are the many, many, doctrinal changes, and "truth" being correct at one point in time, to then be incorrect at another, or the wildly incorrect "prophesying" of dates, which have been wrong from the very beginning, until current.

Besides all the incorrect interpretations, and flip flopping concerning doctrine, i feel the major issue with the WTS, is their "love". I NEVER felt "TRUE" love from most members of the org. Yes, there are always the warm, nice, older caring ones, and the back rubbing friendly brothers and sisters, BUT it is all conditional, most of the time. Even when ones were enquiring about others, its usually with the motive of gaining information.

I was born in the "truth", and was there up until my very early 20's. Now that i am 40, i was basically in the "truth", and out for an equal amount of time. Perspectively, i can say that in the "truth", i have met the MOST judgemental people i have ever known. I have met some of the most back stabbing humans ever. I have met the most fakest person, i have ever known.

There is NO true brotherhood behind the Kingdom halls doors. Everyone is gossiping, forming cliques, and running around "spying" on each other. You couldnt truly confide in anyone, as there is always the fear of being "turned in". The looming spectre of being brought to the elders, causes everyone to be fake, and superficial with each other. No real depth of caring for each other. There is no forgiveing each other, and taking the good with the bad, like true familys and friends do. I may argue with my wife in the morning, but 5 minutes later, we still know we LOVE each other, and have each others backs. My sibling may say something to annoy me today, but tomorow, if she needs me, I am there for her.

This does NOT exist in the ORG. Everyones "love", is conditional on outward appearences, that are dictated by the WTS's rules of what makes someone "worthy". You could be a REAL, TRUE friend, and the most kind hearted human being, but if you only put in 1 hour of field service each month, then you are shit in their eyes. This is NOT true Christianity. It does NOT exist there. There is NO love there. It is ONLY, obey and stay. Thats it, nothing else.

I picked up this "vibe" from an early age. I could tell that these people WERE fake, and it never sat right with me. As i got older, into my teenage years, i found it harder and harder to be "like" them. I could not act "fake", like them. I saw thru the bullshit, and it caused me to draw further and further away from them. If that meant that i looked "unworthy" in their eyes, then that WAS FINE. I do NOT want to seem "worthy" by THEM, because their standards of worth, are HORRIBLE.

I am a REAL, and genuine human being. I have empathy, love, and a heart of kindness. I only keep friends with humans who hold these same values. My family, and extended family, love each other, and support each other, truly. This is why i am NOT a JW anymore.

Interesting, in life, most things come full circle. I truly beleive that we are witnessing the end of the witnesses/org. With this information we learn that the org started with this exact financial situation, and now it will END with the exact same financial situation.

It is almost poetic, and ironic at its best.
