The false prophet strikes again! Didn't anyone notice?
by nowwhat? inlast year during the closing talk our favorite anthony morris lll in all his glory declared" armageddon is imminent!
" on the broadcast screen at every regional convention world wide!
well it has been a year now and if you look at the definition of imminent , we are well past the expiration date..

Wait, hold on, you mean a "prophesy" from the GB has not come to be!!! How is this possible? They are Gods ONLY Earthly representation, and very mouthpiece. If they foretold something, and it did not come to pass, wouldnt that mean that they are NOT being directed by God himself???
Hold on, i gotta look into this further. Has this ever happened before, where the WTBS foretold that the end was coming, and it actually DID NOT happen? If thats the case, these guys just may not have the "truth", weird.

Money... $$$$
by lastmanstanding inoh the money.. this years rc gave me a thought as i watched the money pour in.. at the circuit assemblies, the one dayers now, the “deficit” has been announced and the dubs expected to “rise to the occasion” with their cash.
we all thought that dubs, eventually, would do the math and see that the watchtower boys were charging a per-head fee.
we thought that this would make them think, and they would see the money grubbing.

Kids in my kingdom hall
by Akid48 ini think my last post i said i went to a new congregation,i'm going to just talk about some of the shit i have seen in my congregation.. there was a kid trying to talk to a adult next to him i think it was his dad,the kid just started taping him because he wanted to tell him something and the dad gets mad then boom the kid gets elbowed.i look around to see if anyone saw him do that to his kid and nope or they didn't want to say anything about it and just like wtf.. in my old congregation, the younger kids would do random stuff in the middle of the meeting to not get board.
when the mom or dad got mad i would see then get dragged to the back of the kingdom hall and hear them start crying.when i was still mentally in i just didnt think about it at all when it would happen but when i woke up im just like thats fucked up..

There is an underlying "air" of physical abuse specifically within the WTBS, concerning parents and young children. Their go to scripture is the "Use the rod" scripture. Its almost like a get out of jail free card for beating your kid.
The sick thing about it, is that its almost a badge of "spirituality" for parents. The Elders have to make sure their kids are well behaved little JW clones, so NO misbehaving can be tolerated, hence a good "crack" on the head.
The up and coming MS servants young kids must be obedient, if they are gonna reach out for more privileges, hence the "slap" to the face.
The single sister raising her kids in the "truth", must show that she knows how to teach her kids "right and wrong", hence the "dragging them crying to the back school".
ALL of this is accepted, and literally encouraged by the R&F. There is NEVER anyone standing up for the children in their halls. There is NEVER any thought that, "hey maybe these poor kids are bored to death", and its NORMAL for a little acting out, and it is NOT normal to expect toddlers to sit still for 2 hours straight.
The funny thing is, the ONLY time i ever remember there being a local needs talk concerning children and misbehaving, was not saying maybe we are being too harsh on our kids. NOPE, instead it was specifically about embarrassing a brother whos 3 year old son would sometimes talk or make some noise during the meetings, and that the congregation had a "problem" of children interrupting their precious talks from the podium.
The result from that local needs was that the brother and sister whom it was intended for, left the congregation with their child, and started attending another hall, and all the remaining kids started getting their asses beaten and dragged to the back room, more often.
Good job guys!!! Its all about pushing the "perfect JW image", while abusing your children.

If the Gov. where you live outlawed the JWs would you turn in your family?
by blownaway ini guess it would depend for me.
some of my family i would take out bill boards pointing to them.
many of the elders it would be he is over there and set off a neon sign.

I would not do that, in no way shape or form, sorry. I couldnt do that, and honestly i wouldnt do it towards "worldly" people, either.
I would not give the government the satisfaction of making their jobs easier by helping to round up fellow humans. Not my style. I am not a snitch, and or rat.
My current lifestyle is not neccessarily squeaky clean, and i would want to be left alone, and not ratted on for stupid nonsense. Hence, i would never do that to someone else. If someone "wrongs" me, my go to response is NOT to tun them in, but i will have justice by my own hand, and take care of my own "business".
The JW religion, as a whole, has done some horrible things, but the average rank n file doesnt need to be thrown in jail for being mislead by an organization. They dont deserve that. Even the few asshole elders that have personally wronged me, and DESERVE some justice, would not be ratted on by me.
Now, if it was the 8 GB members, and i knew where they were, and was in that specific position to turn THEM in, and only them, then YES i would.

Satan temping Eve. Had she not ate

Also, along with mikefloods coment, is that angels were presumably around for million, if not billions of years with God and Jesus, up in heaven.
The were contemporaries of them, as fellow spiritual creatures. They not only witnessed the complete creation of the physical UNIVERSE, with all the galaxies, suns, solar systems, earth, animal, plant life, and humans, but also lived in the spiritual realm with them.
For them to have disobeyed, and forsaken their natural forms, is quite a stretch, and baffling. Then for Adam and Eve to have been tempted RIGHT AWAY, after their creation, and held to such a high standard, when they were really only INFANTS, in the big scheme of things.
So, perfect angelic creatures, who LIVE with GOD, and have been around for billions of years, sinned ONLY then, and get a slap on the wrist, and allowed to MOLEST the 2 newest creatures, human man and woman. Meanwhile, they were only children in comparison, both age wise, mentally, and an inferior creature, compared to an ANGEL. Yet now for eating a F@CKING fruit, have to deal with death, misery, disease, pain, shame, and all the evils of the world.
If you were God, or a parent, would you let some godlike all powerful creature, with powers, and intellect beyond imagining, with cunning, and ill intent, tamper or harass your NEWBORN BABY. No, you would NEVER do that. Yet, by God allowing Satan to molest/tamper with Adam and Eve, thats EXACTLY what happened, if you really think about it. Then would you blame the BABY for being seduced and hurt, or would you have protected that baby. Adam and Eve were new "babies" when compared to the millenia of spiritual creatures, and their time on planet earth.

Shot off a TON of Fireworks for the 4th of July, did anybody else?
by Dunedain ini just finally settled down for the night, as its 1 a.m. in the morning, est, right now.
i finally cleaned up my yard a bit, and a few friends that were over have left.. anyway, i bought about $1,000 dollars worth of fireworks to shoot off for the 4th.
i had sooo much sh%t, i didnt think i was gonna shoot anywhere near as much as i did, but, between me and 2 buddies, we shot off like 85% of it.. literally for an hour and a half we were shooting non stop, sometimes 3 or 4 heavy mortars at once, without a break.

I thought about this exact same scenario, except it was 36 years ago, when i was 6 years old, lol. I was a young, born in, indoctrinated 6 year old, raised on the My book of bible stories, talks from the podium, Watchtower mags, and all the other bullsh$t.
Yet, one night, at the tender age of 6 years old, after a little study between me and my 30 something year old, Elder Father, i dropped that "bomb" on my Daddy. I said, well Dad, we should all really be glad that Adam and Eve sinned. Perplexed, he looked at me, and said, Why, what do you mean son?
I said, Well Dad, if they never sinned, we would have NEVER been born. My Father was shocked that i said that. He was not mad, he was not dissapointed. Instead, he was blown away by my 6 year old "logic". It made HIM think, and he told me later in life, that it always stuck with him. He also said, thats when he realized that i was well beyond my years, and that i was thinking more than most biblical, JWs were that were triple my age.
Needless to say, it must have been such an impression, as he is no longer quite convinced that JWs have the "truth" anymore. Now we both have VERY deep conversations, and none of it is tainted thru JW goggles anymore.

Since You Left The Organization Do You Celebrate National and Religious Holidays?
by minimus ini know of people who were disciplined because they observed the fourth of july fireworks celebration.
and i know many people who celebrated thanksgiving but just didn’t call it that because they could get into trouble with the elders.. do you now celebrate birthdays and other holidays or is that something you really don’t care about?
?.

Well, i just shot off a $1000 bucks worth of fireworks in my backyard lastnight, for the 4th, so i would say i "celebrated" it. It wasnt about the birth of my nation, though. It was about having fun. Enjoying the show, and having a few friends over.
I celebrate Christmas with my family, as i have younger children. Its not about Jesus birthday, duh. Its not about anything, but just enjoying the time of year, and the giving of presents, and i LOVE when my kids are happy.
I go to an Easter dinner at my wifes parents house. Its all about the meal for me, and for everyone else, i think. Nobody goes to church, or cares about Jesus being resurrected, or the Easter bunny. Again, its about getting together, and that awesome ham and mashed potatoes.
Dont get me started on Thanksgiving. Its not about remembering the first meal that the settlers shared with the Indians. Its about getting together, and that giant bird, all the mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and a ton of other sh$t. Now i am getting hungry, dammit.
Birthdays, yes i celebrate them too. Its really about the person whos bday that it is. Getting together, and having an enjoyable day. I dont think about astrology, or a head on a silver plate, go figure. Cake though, thats nice.
Funny though, now that i am getting older, i dont care as much for celebrating MY birthday, weird right.
Now, i must admit, and this is probably weird coming from a born in, ex JW, that i am, but my favorite holiday is Halloween. Weird, i know, but i love that time of year. I love scary, dark, eerie things, and Halloween is right up my alley. If you dont believe in the edicts of the religion anymore, then why should i care about a spooky holiday. Its either its all true, or its all NOT true. So if i dont believe in Jah, then i dont belive in Satan either.
Thats my basic stand on most of the holidays. Also, mind you, yes i was a born in JW, and was NOT raised with holidays, but my wife was not a JW, and holidays are normal. Therefore my kids were not raised as JWs and holidays are normal to them. I have been outta the "truth" since my early 20s, over 20 years ago, and i would never push my odd, cult upbringing on them, so i go with the flow.

Oh yeah, it was really fun. I have a very large backyard, that has a cement patio towards the back end of my yard, so it was the perfect spot to shoot em off.
Honestly, i would have never spent $1000 on fireworks, if i couldnt afford it. Its a luxury, for sure, but a luxury i can afford. All the bills are paid, the family wants for nothing, and i can spend $1000 bucks on fireworks, without any issue.
It was a great time.
