Overwhelmed

does anyone else feel overwhelmed on what to believe?.

i've been doing lots of research on beliefs, evolution, creationism but i feel no further forward about what i truly believe.

for example i looked at the fossil record and tiktaalic and thought great it proves a lot but then i've seen counter arguments on youtube of people basically saying its a load of rubbish and doesn't prove anything.

Yeah, I really can't stand that bit. If you question them because something really does not make sense or is bluntly untrue its like 'in time you will understand, you are just not there yet (and we are)' like I'm the one being stupid.

And yes I have the same as you .. I'm investigating .. EVERYTHING .. reading all kinds of books and opinions and I get swayed from one opinion to the other as well.

For JW it's easy .. everything in the bible is true, because it says so in the bible.

What immodest clothing have you got in trouble for wearing?

i personally have a very distinct sense of style and fashion which many of the fellow jdubs frown upon.

recently, i was told by a few specially self righteous ones that i looked like a prostitute in a pair of white boots!

a pair of 3 inch heeled, just a little taller than the ankle boots, with skirt that came down to my knees and a black long sleeve shirt that came up to my collarbone.

I always wondered why they bother so much, since the neck tie originally was worn by soldiers as a reminder to their love at home (and later became part of the uniform)

i am also a ex-jwer and left the ´truth´ on jan. 2018. i live and work in midt jylland in denmark.

@IamWhatIAm - I'd really like to learn from your experience ... I'm a bible student right now, but I have these severe doubts. But I guess I'm also tricked by how nice the people are and everybody seems so happy and friendly. But what really intrigues me I guess is that, although I can express my doubts right now, no one, really no one expresses any doubts or critique on anything they see, read or hear. And although that gives it this uniform look of course, it's also very creepy.

I mean .. we are people right .. we always complaint or express what we do not agree on. But they don't.

Anyway, what I'm really afraid of, and that's what you also tell in your story, is that as soon as you get baptized they sort of turn on you. Then if you have any critique you have a problem, while right now I can ask whatever I like (at least I think I can, I still have this idea every doubt I have is noted and will come back later .. but then I think I'm too suspicious).

So I hope you guys can help me wake up before it's too late ..
