Strasbourg court declares illegal dissolving of Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow
by behemot inthe european court of human rights declared illegal on thursday a ruling by a russian court in 2004 to dissolve the moscow branch of the jehovah's witnesses.. it ordered russia to pay 70,000 euros to the movement's members.. russia's committee of salvation ngo lodged a suit demanding a halt to the activities of the jehovah's witnesses in moscow in 1995. the christian-based movement responded with a countersuit at the strasbourg court in october 2001.. in march 2004, a moscow district court dissolved the organization, which russia considers a sect, and banned its activities.
it said the "sect" encouraged its younger members to disown their families, commit suicide and neglect their civic duties.. the strasbourg court said the moscow court's ruling lacked sufficient grounds and was "too strict a measure.".
under the european convention on human rights, russia or the applicants have three months to appeal the ruling in the court's grand chamber.. the jehovah's witnesses, with up to seven million believers worldwide and 300,000 in russia, have already been banned in a number of former soviet republics.. the group, best known for its door-to-door evangelistic work, was founded in the united states at the end of the 19th century.

this is the date when somebody, somewhere, somehow, switched the light on and i realised i'd been part of a cult.
21 years of my life wasted.... since then i have gone through what i can only compare to losing someone i loved in death.

this is going to sound a bit cliche but 'you need to get out more'
join a swimming club, line dancing, wine and wisdom ....insert your own choice of something you could or would remotely be interested in.
when we spend too much time with one person it can get overwhelming and frankly a bit gutty, and then can start turning sour.
it also limits us to the amount of time spare to actually try out new things and meet new people, cos youre too busy being monopolised.

If You Still "Had" To Go To Meetings What "Disrespectful" Things Might You Do?
by minimus ini know some who go to meetings because they feel they have to because of family or other considerations.. imagine going to a meeting and having your iphone with you!.
how would it look if you had a watchtower in your hands along with a tv guide?.
think about going to a meeting with strong booze breath.. any other suggestions?

should the need ever arise for me to step foot in a kh (catagorically no reason that i can remotely imagine why that situation would ever arise)
i will do the same as when i was dragged out of mothballs against my better wishes,
1 wear what i feel comfortable in
2 sit where i want.
3 wipe my feet on the way out. (again)
should everyone else feel the need to sit on each others laps in order to squeeze in front of where i'm sitting that is their perogative and they are absolutely entitled to do so (again)
