The apologist quietly ignores the fact that the passage in question (Jeremiah 29) refers to a letter written 7 years prior to Jerusalemâs destruction to people already exiled in Babylon, so it would be meaningless to tell them they would be in Babylon for 70 years starting from some unstated future event. đ Perhaps the silly apology shouldnât highlight such obvious low hanging fruit.
And according to WT some were more than 70 years in exile like Daniel. So when they returned, how can one say they all returned from a 70 years exile?
