The apologist quietly ignores the fact that the passage in question (Jeremiah 29) refers to a letter written 7 years prior to Jerusalem’s destruction to people already exiled in Babylon, so it would be meaningless to tell them they would be in Babylon for 70 years starting from some unstated future event. 😂 Perhaps the silly apology shouldn’t highlight such obvious low hanging fruit.
And according to WT some were more than 70 years in exile like Daniel. So when they returned, how can one say they all returned from a 70 years exile?

Jehovah God is the Grand Identifier of his true messengers. He identifies them by making the messages he delivers through them come true. Jehovah is also the Great Exposer of false messengers. How does he expose them? He frustrates their signs and predictions. In this way he shows that they are self–appointed prognosticators, whose messages really spring from their own false reasoning–yes, they are foolish, fleshly thinking.
So Rutherford, acting as FDS, was one of them. He made an ass of himself as he said.

When you think about it, in 1925 this was considered spiritual food at the right time. You were supposed to believe it otherwise you were spiritually weak.

Rutherford was noted to have said afterward about his own predictions of 1925 as FDS: “I know I made an ass of myself”- WT-10/1/1984- pg.24.

WT FDS is a prophet since they prophesied that the end would come in 1925.

If this is truly the case then you should stay right away from WT publications for such belong to foolish uneducated people but that reminds me of scriptures that say about the early Christians being unwise and foolish.
This is so true.Once they received holy spirit they no longer taught false things, All those prophets who were not that educated but got holy spirit didn't have to correct themselves due to some new light. This proves that the governing body doesn't have holy spirit.

I work in R&D and read a lot of research papers. All the WT articles I've seen on this subject are more at the reading level of middle school. I recently saw a correlation chart showing religions and education. JW is the most uneducated religious group.

Thanks, I know those articles. None of them go into details though. I think there is no Watchtower study article in the last 100 years that covers all the relevant scriptures in details.

When was the last time a WT study article discussed 1914 in all the details with all the scriptures about 70 years? I can't find it.
