Exactly what Blondie said. I am sure as was mentioned there may be a legal reason behind the move. Ultimately though a Bethel elder means nothing to avergage Joe publisher beyond showing up at their district conventions to give talks and release literature. At Bethel though being a BE is something to aspire to, another carrot for elders at bethel to chase. Its a power position with prestige at the big house and if you are not one then there is something wrong with you if you've been there for a long time.

hot news from todays morning worship announcement worldwide -- letter from gb being read on 1st of march 2006 to every branch (hopefully we will have a copy of the letter soon.).
as of aug. 31, 2006 the bethel elder arrangement will be dissolved!

What's your favourite movie of all time?
by deeskis inwe had a weekend away a couple of weeks ago.
i took a few classic dvd's along in case the weather turned sour.. so i watched ghost with demi moore, that pottery scene has to be one of my favourite ever..........gives me goosebumps!
but it's not my favourite movie of all time/ i'm embarrassed to admit it, but ok i will, cause i'm with friends!

What do you make of the Daniel Book

Welcome. In answer to your question I hate the Daniel book so much that I couldn't stomach conducting it again in the bookstudy so I asked to be replaced, it took a few months but eventually I was. The explanations they offer as to the meaning of the verses have no backing whatsoever and nobody questions it one bit.

no but I did meet "emperor palpatine" on several occasions though... not much to him by the time I was there though, partially blind, going deaf. I had heard the stories of the 70's and 80's of him bringing newboys down to the sauna for some Sith training though.

Did you feel uncomfortable going into churches when you were a JW?...
by Hecklerboy ini remember going into churches when i was a jw for wedding or funeral and feeling a sense of dread.
i thought the demons were going to come out of the walls at me.
and of course i had the self-rightous attitude that the church would be destroyed soon in armegeddon.. recently i've been helping teach a karate class at a local baptist church.

Nope. Been to weddings, funerals in churches. Of course I never told anyone in the cong. that I was doing that, especially the weddings since there wouldnt be a "justifiable" reason in their judgemental eyes. The sermons werent bad I have to admit, though the Catholic wedding I went to was annoying having to get up and parrot off what the priest was saying and then turning around to shake hands was stupid. I wanted to go up and try the sacrament cracker but the wife pulled me back down, I was curious what can I say.
