The infuriating thing, for me, anyway, is that they do know the difference and yet choose to write the way they do anyway
So true Sir82......stupid mofo's.
today's study picks on the most vulnerable among us.
the mentally ill. .
the watchtower apparently hasn't learned that depression and mental illness are that a medical condition.

I think that this issue depends on how we are all interpreting the word "depression" Just saying oh I lost my job, I am depressed doesnt mean that you are clinically depressed. It almost would have been better if the medical profession used a different term than just "depression" to mean clinical, chemical based depression. How many of us say that we are depressed sometimes, but we all dont pop pills for it.
Anyway getting back to the thread comments I believe the WT is actually referring to the non-clinical depression in this article. Even the CO's admit now in our elders meetings that some may need medication to control the various "depressions" that plaugue many today. America seems to be rife with clincally depressed people, not just JWs either.
the worst thing an "elder" ever did to me was in 2008. i was in one congregation, but i wanted to return to my home congregation because i've been reproved there twice ( once private and the last one public ).
when i came into this congregation in 2007 i thought i was going to move up the food chain ( this congregation was full of older people, so i thought i would move up faster ).
but i got into some trouble in the congregation.
Take me in the coat room before the Thursday night meeting with another elder and ask me if there was anything in the past or present that would disqualify me and prevent my appointment as an elder from being announced that night.
There aren't scriptures stating most of what the Jehovah's Witness religion says to do. Its all a farce
since sir82 pretty much covered the highlights of the drivel i only have this to say about it besides total waste of time:.
the 2 witness rule is very much still in effect for pedophilia.
they barely covered that 10/1/12 letter to all bodies, basically the co read it and even skipped some parts.
As for ramping up Df'ings...I guess you could make that case. That video of the committee case was sort of implying that elders are being swayed by sentiment instead of WT directives. Sentiment, how dare they! They must be thinking that more people need to be df'd then are actually getting the axe. And yes that intro and concl. way, way over exaggerated. Kind of silly, and unnecessary too.

No. They pretty much reviewed chapters in the KS book and 10/1/12 and 4/10/12 Letters to BOE's with us, showed us a couple videos then sent us on our way all "ready to judge" with insight in righteousness.

Yes ok to miss it. If not for the brother next to me feeding me a constant supply of candy, gum, mints, etc. I would've been fast asleep in my chair. The only interesting parts, and by interesting I really mean less boring because it was on TV, were the videos.
The introduction and conclusion were also very strange....pre-recorded videos of Bro. Lett and Bro. Morris telling us how wonderful we are to be in service. It felt like those cheesy airline videos "..Welcome, and thank you for flying United Airlines. Please enjoy your flight.."

Pretty much it was "call legal, call legal, oh did we mention CALL F*CKING LEGAL MORONS" for any accusation, confession, evidence or no evidence, of molestation or child abuse" PERIOD! Ok next boring talk.
i remember in my kingdom hall one of our 5 elders bro.
"smith" had a gossipy wife sis "smith" who would be known to gossip from the time she enter the hall until she left.
i don't know how she never was reproved or counseled for her gossiping.
Funny thread. You want to know who the worst gossipers are in most congregations...its the pioneers, nobody home at the doors so they have to talk to each other about something.
Many elders wives are pioneers so this makes sense. Pioneers know everything going on in the congregation. If any elders are pioneers then they are in the know all the time by default.
