Annoying 2/15 WT - Don't Be Stumbled- your Mind Just Misunderstands !
by flipper inanother wt article which causes jw's to doubt their own perceptions of reality.
) in this particular article titled " for those loving jehovah, " there is no stumbling block " - the wt society stoops to new, or rather re-hashed lows to insinuate that most if not all jw's really misunderstand causes of stumbling as it's just their minds that are imperfect, messed up, or gone entirely anyway.
the first abhorrent bit of information here describes a witness man who " fought " with feelings of being homosexual and of course the elders thought they had the perfect antidote to keep him from his alleged " abnormal " desires.

Two elders visited him and listened sympathetically, without interrupting, while he related his story, AS HE PERCEIVED IT.
What they meant to say is they let their minds wander because they could give a rat's ass about his problem. Sympathetically, really? Ex elders are generally treated as scum. Especially ones that step aside because of an issue on the body of elders. Who is the WTS kidding with this b/s.
I recall 1 CO asking about someone who stepped aside to the rest of us and it was explained by our PO the issue he had, the CO's response: "so he is just a complainer with a bad attitude, is that correct?, just keep an eye on him"

Biblical Support for Judicial Committee?
by nolongerconfused inthat is my question...anyone ever investigated this?....because i sure have not read anything in the bible that even hints on a congregation having judicial committee procedures...has anyone had any experience with this topic?.

No basis for it and no precedent set forth in scripture detailing it at all. I think its just a way to weed out honest hearted dissenters i.e. apostates.

Active, Elder. Pretending (some would say being a hypocrite) for family. I do the bare minimum that I can get away with without "..2 elders sitting down with me to see how I am doing"

How easily one might start to minimize the wise,
balanced advice from the faithful and discreet slave class about additional education and start to miss meetings! In this area, some have gradually been molded by the world’sreasoningsand views.(Eph. 2:2, 3) TheBibleapt- ly warns us: “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould.”—Rom.12:2, Phillips. From the Jeremiah book from the bible study last week paragraph 7, What balanced viewpoint? They make a statement that the F&DS has a WISE, BALANCED viewpoint of additional education but they dont say what it is. In fact they give a decidely, one-sided viewpoint instead. You WILL miss meetings and you WILL get moulded by the world. They are desperately trying to say dont go to college but for some reason dont come outright and just say it. cowardice

2+2=5 cited this fact about the shrinking amount of elders. Perhaps the coming implosion?
by wha happened? inat the last elders school i heard from a few different attendees that the average age was easily 60+.
there will be a lot of elders gone within the next 10yrs.
there is nowhere near enough young brothers to replace these ageing elders.

The last KM school I attended (end of 2012) the average age of the elders looked to be in the 40's-50's with many also in their 30's. I'd say over the next 10-20 years or so I have no idea where the next crop will be coming from. In my there are 11 elders and 4 ministerial servants. When I was growing up that number was reversed.

Do JWs Really Still care about the "Truth"?
by XBEHERE ini often read posts on here citing some km school or wt article and the comment that "now they are tightening their grip" or "they will now go after faders" etc, etc.
my perception is that the vast majority of jws, including the elders, are suffering from apathy and fatigue.
most simply don't care anymore.

My perception is that the vast majority of JWs, including the elders, are suffering from apathy and fatigue. Most simply don't care anymore. My question is am I wrong? Do you really feel like the WTS has any hope of "tightening their grip" to keep people in? Do you really think that JWs today are the same as they were in the 70's, 80's, and early (pre-1995) 90's?
In my congregation the meetings start with 25 people and 15-30 minutes later another 40-50 come in. Publishers turn down shepherding calls because they have no time, or some other excuse. Support for service on Saturdays is terrible with all groups in 4 different locations combined averaging about 25-30 out, brothers don't really reach out anymore. Nobody cares about the smaller magazines, The FDS is now only the GB wow big deal. Basically all these things that people comment on here and say that the GB is tightening down, etc. seems to have no effect on them.
Now I am in a typical, WASPY, eastern U.S. congregation so maybe thats just how things seem in my area. For those if you who still attend or associate with those that do what is it like in your area? Do JWs still care?

used to be the "go to elder" oh **** will do it just ask him. Oh **** is my favorite elder, I only go to him. **** knows what the right thing to do is.
Since I have asked to be taken off WT conducting, public talks, and conducting bible studies as well as not being a group overseer apparently I have been "demonized" to the publishers by the other elders. Which I can't figure out because they aren't supposed to gossip or betray confidence right?!?!? lol. Anyway IDGS anyway this religion sucks and is full of bs.

Post KM Elder School, you may see elders become a little nosier or nebby than usual.
by Theocratic Sedition inafter reading through onedayillbefree's thread about being taken into the back room and asked inappropriate questions, i was reminded about a part done at the km school.
one of the common themes throughout the one day school was viewing things the way god sees them and how doing so will require that elders develope insight.
they defined insight as, evaluating individual aspects in light of others, or getting & understanding facts and how all relate to one another.. next, they gave specific examples where an elder will need insight in order to assist wayward sheep.

yes, exactly what Sir82 said. The religion is imploding from the inside out, nobody reaching out anymore. Back in the day there were 5-6 elders and 10 ms's, now ms's are scarce and elders are growing more and more apathetic as the R&F do less and respect them less.
