Who knows. Since I am still serving I can only speak for my body, they only "bother" people when the CO is around since he asks and whenever the Branch wants to make one their "special efforts" to reach out to lost sheep. otherwise they could care less. If you have faded but start becoming vocal, and public about TTATT then the CO would probably instruct the body to seek you out to "offer loving assistance".

Why Do Certain "Inactive Ones" Get Bothered By The Elders While Others Don't?
by minimus init seems some inactive ones and active jws are hardly ever bothered by the elders while others are constantly called, checked up on, etc...... what gives?.

Jw's dont really care about doctrine do they?
by marriedtoajw init seems to me that jw's really don't care about doctrine.
ephesians chapter 4 verse 11 "and he gave some as apostles others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry for the building up of the body of christ until we attain the unity of faith and knowledge of the son of god to mature manhood to the extent of the full stature of christ so that we may no longer be in infants tost by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery from their cunning in the interest of deceitful scheming".
is it just me or does this verse totally annihilate the doctrine or belief in new light.

Many jws only care what jws see them doing
This is so true and this fact is what makes it difficult for some JWs to leave the org. Fear of losing friends, family, pretty much your entire social structure is frightening to JWs. Therefore, if a doctrine is show by someone else to be false, they will simply ignore it and carry on with their social club. My wife suffers from this and I can not find a way around it..

by Crazyguy injust wondering to those that have gone to one of the international or rc assemblies what's the attendance been like.

NJ Metlife Attendance (figures are rounded to nearest 1000)
Friday 53,000
Saturday 57,000
Sunday 58,000
I think 55-60k were expected so it was far off. The above poster is correct though, most of that was local fro the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) lots of JWs there.

JW's are quite well off in the area of the U.S. that I live in, myself not included. Your comments are correct though, most of these people were not born-ins so they had an education before becoming witlesses. I am not sure what point that video is attempting to convey, interesting to watch it soon.

Yes I was. Pioneered, served at Bethel, MS at 19, Elder at 27. As an elder I served as PO, Sec, SO, WT Conductor, TMSO, etc. Served on local committees, appeal committees, special committees (the ones the CO's as you to be on for specific problems). SAD and CA talks. Am I proud of any of this...absolutely not! 2002 TTATT hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks. Currently in for family, do not believe most of their doctrines and I think that the GB aka F&DS is full of shit.

80 Year old COBE Layoff Conspiracy
by XBEHERE inwho else thinks something is afoot with this?
is the gb deciding to go back to pre-1971 times with perhaps the cobe as the man in charge and the rest just ministerial servants.
so for this reason they want younger men in those postitions?

Oubliette that is true. However the JW.org always does things for a reason, the fact that there is not a scripure to support the statements in that letter is very telling. Perhaps this letter is a way to "test the waters" so to speak with a minor change, allbeit without scriptural backing, and see who if anyone notices or bothers to complain about it. if no complaints then they can slowly move on to other changes with no backing.

So what about some of the current GB, they've got to be pushing 80 sooner than later. Will they "retire"?

Any theories?

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

in line with the rebranding the society, when i've rung bethel, the girl at the other end has picked up the phone and said "hello watchtower".
is that the same these days?
or is it "hello wt.org"?
Here in the U.S they answer the telephone: "Jehovah's Witnesses" they stopped answering Watchtower a long time ago.
