Confusion over the parable of the prodigal son
by economy inthough parable of prodigal son is superlative in quality as it graphically picturizes the scientific law of cause and consequence, its conclusion defames god.
when the prodigal son returned repentant, his father showed his delight saying: let us celebrate this by killing a fattened calf.
(luke 15:23) such a concept (let us rejoice by giving maximum pain to another innocent living being) seems to be interpolation for the following reason:.

Why a JC if the adulterous mate is forgiven?
by snugglebunny insupposing a man's wife has had an affair, confessed all and genuinely regrets what's happened.
the husband, after much soul searching and agonising, realises how much he still loves her and how much both of them want to rebuild their shattered relationship.. why should that woman then have to sit in front of a judicial men-only committee and give a blow-by-blow account of her affair?.
how would that make her husband feel, knowing that his wife is sharing intensely private stuff about her affair with several other guys?.

It is because of the WT application of
James 5:14"Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.…"
What they do is apply this as confessing only to the elders while they conveniently leave out verse 16:
"Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much"
So confession to your spouse or another Christian is not acceptable enough to be forgiven by God even though Jesus died for our sins not them.

Their delusion run-ith over in today WT study rag mag.
by Crazyguy ini noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.
what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.

if a man rapes a witness that is not a witness, do they report it to the police or cover that up too?
if there child is molested say at school, does the two witness rules apply?

If a JW child is assaulted by a non-JW the parents are urged to contact the police. Interesting isn't it, but if the alleged attacker is a JW its hush hush time. Hypocrisy at its finest. -

New "donation" arrangement begins to FAIL
by Tech49 inso here we are, almost a year into the "new" congregation donation arrangement.
and its beginning, as was predicted, to fail miserably, and to have direct negative consequences on the poor sheep.. let me give you a little experience, directly from our congregation of about 80 publishers.
back in may, after reading the letter about the "new" arrangement, the elder body decided to "donate" the extra funds on hand to wt, as directed.

The general attitude is to just get through the meeting and then get home to watch whatever was taped off the cable TV box.
lol... did you read my mind.

JW.ORG has jehovahs backing
by antes8080 inbeen hearing this from various people from the cong that jw.org is a clear sign that god is directing the org.. i have various friends in the it dept not only in brooklyn but mexico and colombia, just a fact there is 5 to 6 it dept all over the world that give support to jworgie 24/7... so i have ask them how they came up with the website wich is not the best but not the worst by far.
all four of them told me the same story, there is a brother in florida that is profesor of some kind computer class and as project he made them work on the website so students of these college helped launch this site.. so more like jah backing it has more like satan backing...

Does it matter who designed it? The content is the issue not the design of the website, which as you stated is not the worst or best that is out there. The WT is in the middle to end of a massive rebranding operation...lets just see how it plays out. -

From the mouth of the Ayatollah
by Pistoff inthere has been more than a few posts about anthony morris iii and his talk about tight pants, spanx (spandex?
) and bethel as a destination vacation.. after the initial bewilderment and laughing about his diatribe, it is more clear to me that this was not about modest clothing choices, or spiritual priorities.. it was designed and succeeded as a slap in the face of all who listened.. the things he talked about are just not on the normal radar of anyone who listened.. i can recall nowhere in writing that ever encouraged families to go to bethel before disneyworld, mgm, etc; nowhere that talks about leggings or modern cut men's suits (it is just fashion, after all), or women wearing exercise clothing in public.
(on a side note, i have been to assemblies, there are just not many of us who could wear tight clothing and not look like stuffed sausage, so how many people was he aiming at here?).

They just arnt lapping it up as they used too in my area and my area was very very hard core for a long time.
I Agree, with the exception of those few die-hards. Not 2 months or so after this talk I was invited to someone's home for dinner and the sister that did the inviting had spandex pants on the whole time I was there. Her husband was dressed as your typical "off-duty" elder in khakis and a golf shirt but his wife was in "spanx" panty lines and all.
JW's in general, do not seem to care as much as they used to. They may not vocalize it, they may criticize those who are vocal, but by their actions they are showing that they know some of this drivel is non sense.

It really is quite fascinating when you look at the WT Org's history, particularly when the majority of the GB has had a turnover. Russell, then he died and when JFR took over there was a schism and the ones that continued to believe in Russell's teachings were labeled "apostates" while the one's that embraced JFR's changes were renamed Jehovah's Witnesses.
JFR hired a new prophet named Fred Franz to be his main writer and doctrine maker...this continued after JFR's death with Knorr also using Freddie. Under Freddie and Knorr they expanded the GB with hand picked individuals who for the most part followed Freddie's lead.
Finally after Knorr and then Freddie died this hand picked GB continued for a while holding the mantle but also making some changes then they eventually had to fill in replacements with their hand picked friends. Then they started dying off so these hand picked friends made more changes, and so and so forth until here we are today.
It seemed to me that many of the changes started with Ted Jaracz's death and continued until some of Ted's closest, hand picked GB members were out numbered then more changes happened. Might be a coincidence but seems like with the death of Guy Pierce in particular changes have be in overdrive.
It all remains to be seen what will happen when Losch, Splane, Herd die off and what their replacements will then do.

JW TV is the reason for the hysteria in the KH
by campaign of hate inif you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.
its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.
there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".

There is only a small percentage of JW's that really can be considered "hardcore" these days. While that Jim Jones pic above is interesting I seriously doubt that any command like that would ever be issued let alone followed. This is a cult but not an extreme cult in that sense, the few wack-jobs aside.
The only real issue I have with the JW Broadcasting, being that I am still an active JW, is that this is just one more thing to guilt trip people about on the congregation level. Now, before and after the meetings and during F/S this is how the conversations go: "hey good point in the latest broadcast right?" "wow did you catch that interview or that morning worship video.. so hard hitting" In other words this is turning into a way to identify "spiritually weak" individuals in the congregation. It is clever.

I hope Armageddon doesn't come before the new Star Wars movie comes out

lol.. I really used to think about that when I was growing up since we had to wait like 3 years in between them. Now I feel the same way but instead its "I hope I don't die before the sequel trilogy is completed" screw Armageddon.
