Quick survey for apostates - please everyone just yes or no answer
by slimboyfat indo the other witnesses with whom you associate/once associated in general know that you are an apostate or have apostate inclinations?
the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.
in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".

This Govering Body of Elders seems to be much like most other Elder bodies.
I think this is a fair statement and if thats the case than JWs should have even less respect for the direction that they provide. Politics, politics, POLITICS. They are all influenced by Jaracz of he is indeed as powerful as we all make him out to be since as already noted by IPSEC other BOE's function just like this, PO or another influential elder or two call the shots and the rest just sit idly by and do not dispute primarily because they dont want the hassle it will bring but also because they are afraid of the reprecussions.
The elder arrangement, including the GB, is far from a christian arrangement... at least the people on them dont usually behave like christians ought to anyway.

I this this is just a matter of which came first the dp book or the magazine article. This was new light in the 1999 WT article which did not make the 1999 edit of the dp book. Sort of like the difference between the Insight book and the Paradise book.
Blondie this is possible but either way it just again shows how fragile and inconsistent the JW belief system is. Besides arent the articles written months in advance of being printed? The WT came out in May and the DP in the summer of the same year. Someone in writing just didnt bother to check the DP book before it was printed. Food at the "proper time".... hardly! Not to put aside the fact that this "blunder" was never mentioned so that we could correct it when studying nor was it revised recently since I pulled both quotes off the 2005 CDROM. How the heck can God be running that org.??

The modern-day parallel to that attack—the outbreak of the great tribulation—is still ahead. So "the disgusting thing that causes desolation," which has existed since 1919, apparently is yet to stand in a holy place. How will this happen? And how can we be affected?

think that priests should get married, and believe or do whatever they want , as long as they attend a mass occasionally?.

Interesting observations.... I think you are pretty accurate too. I see more and more not taking the meetings seriously, myself included. They are boring and a waste of time, I dont feel guilty anymore not going instead I just go again because I am not ready to be labeled "spiritually weak" yet and deleted from serving. Soon though.... I dont know how long I can keep up the charade.

Anyway, one of the last straws was they appointed the guy I studied the Bible with when I was 20 - to be come an Elder BEFORE me.
Confucious this is so very typical! They probably were jealous of you and passed you over. I was appointed an elder VERY young primarily because there was a need in my congregation and I was a "Company Man" back then. I am sure some of the elders brought your name up but the more prominent ,likely the jealous ones, beat the others down. Then they just gave up and this type of complacency is very typical on BOE's these days. Idiots!

I believe what they teach about being good people though because of all the silly man-made rules and procedures there are few JWs who actually are nice people. So much backstabbing, comparing, and competition.. you're never good enough so other JWs judge you constantly. It gets old fast and is very unloving so they are indeed missing the mark of true christianity IMHO.

Do Some JW Elders Secretly Consider It Possible That They Are Wrong?

this jw then moved back to their home area (no jw relatives), and simply continued living their already-in-progress non-jw life.
inevitably, this exjw christian started bumping into their jw former associates.

West 70 congrats on highjacking a good thread, and your own thread too! I really thought you were actually looking for an answer to your posted question....I guess not. BTW if you are an active witness that still beleives the "fog of lies the governing body has taught you" then you best leave this site because I guarantee you the elders will not be loving or merciful if they find out that you post here.
