What Nathan said, sign of spiritual progress. BTW if you are an elder, servant, or pioneer you "need" to be on the TMS.

Letting go of Highly Qualified Men
by James Jackson ini have been posting for a few months now and have read the life stories of tech49, confusedandalone, winston smith and other brothers who have held prominent positions in the organization who were dismissed not for any gross sins, but mainly for not keeping their child toeing the line.
they have been "cast aside", nit picked to death, and made to feel unworthy for their years of dedicated service.
even in my case, having my best friends treat me like the plague to jockey for position of recogntion.. is this what the organization is resorting to now?

i think families of elders should be exemplary as they have prominent positions
Do the elders themselves also need to be "exemplary"? I have been posting here for 12 years and have been an elder the entire time. lol

Can the jw organization be reformed?
by wannaexit ini know that this has been discussed in the past but i wanted to get some fresh opinions.
there are many out there that recognize the "rot" that is in watchtower but still feel that there is a "wholesome" side to it and are trying to bring about change or reform from within.. in 2002 when the rose colored glasses came off for me and i truly started to understand ttatt, i still felt that there was some redemable aspects of the organization.. i felt that russell had some doctrinal things right.
i don't feel like that anymore.

I think that it is slowly is reforming. If you went back in time 20 yrs and told a JW living back then that there would be : only 2 meeting days a week, 3 magazines a month (2 at 16 pgs each), not only literature but Letters to Bodies of elders, talk outlines, etc. all available online in PDF format people would turn you in to the elders and you would be marked or reproved for spreading unreliable gossip. Times are changing, they are sloooooooooooooooooooooooooowly becoming more mainstream-ish.

why using a tablet at the platform during the meeting?
by Gorbatchov ini can't understand why the governing body aka fds has to deside about using a tablet by the speaker at the platform.. why using a tablet anyway at the platform?.
just a toy to keep the youth inside the congregation.. gorby.

It is easier to study, less to bring to the meetings and assemblies. I can't speak for everyone who uses tablets at, but for me its less about showing off and more about convenience. if I have to pretend that I give a rat's ass about the meeting at least this makes it easier to deal with it.

Why doesn't the GB come out with specific rules on counting time
by trujw ini think we all know the reason millions of less hours.
when i was in we went to a rv by the kingdom hall then drove 30 minutes out to the country to knock on a door then back to the city for one more door.
god must be so proud!

In real practice nowdays, for appointed brothers anyway, more emphasis is placed on your "visibility" as opposed to the actual amount of time you are spending. Provided of course that you are getting at least the average of the congregation which varies 6-10+ hrs. As far as how you count your time nobody really give's a shit anymore in all honesty. I barely go out a few hrs a month but I do show up and take my group out and "show my face" and the other elders think I am so regular.. lol so stupid.

The GREEN-colored and the GREY-colored Bibles...
by Calebs Airplane ingreen was, with the druids, a symbol of hope and the virtue of hope with a freemason illustrates the hope of immortality.
in all the ancient mysteries, this idea was carried out, and green symbolized the birth of a new world, the moral creation of the initiate.
hence the new world translation of the holy scriptures.. on the other hand, the color grey in high-ranking freemasonry is said to simbolize a 7-year period of tribulation and turmoil.. given the masonic origins of the watchtower bible & tract society, it's quite possible that the worldwide masonic powers to be have already set in motion the wheels of "tribulation" which started with the government shutdown in the us and will end with a zionist objective that we are yet to see 7 years from now..

At newboy school we were told that the bible was green as were(are) the trim around the factory building windows because that was Knorr's favorite color. Grey, Losch's color...who the fcuk knows or cares.

Wife says "John 17:3 is just like Christendom's translations!"
by leaving_quietly inshe downloaded the jw library app which has the parallel versions of a verse, and upon looking at john 17:3, she said the above to me.
i wonder if this will start causing chinks in the armor for many jws, especially when they look up john 14:14 or rev.
5:10. the months ahead should be interesting..

I was wondering why did they pick a gray color on their new bibles?
by Iamallcool in.
.
if i was on the committee to choose colors, i will definitely turn down that really ugly color!.

I'll play devils advocate and say that I don't mind the grey colour. Need all bibles be your typical black? No. Let's focus on attacking the reasons for this revision and the content rather than nit picking on the appearance.
