Oh, re-reading it, you were referring to the drums as not being assertive enough? Interesting, maybe we will need to do some more work...

I'm curious what you guys mean by "assertiveness." Are you referring to the vocal? I've been giving some thought to re-doing the vocal on the first two verses. I thought the instrumentation was awesome (which was Scott, not me), but I'm not at my strongest vocally doing rock music, I'm more of a folkie (as you will see if we get the other song we are working on finished).

Now that the Storm is over in the Northeast,
by ldrnomo incan we hear from any of you that went through it?.
do you have power yet?.
are you staying with friends?.
-

We are in northern NJ, and we were without power (and thus without heat and running water) for 5 days after the storm. Electricity came back on early last Sunday morning, but we just got internet access back this morning. We still have no landline phone, only our cell phones. We are not nearly as bad off as many, friends elsewhere in town only got power back within the last day or so. The second storm was no issue; we got about 2" of snow from it, which has already melted. Things are slowly getting back to normal, and it wasn't as bad for us as for those in coastal areas.

Anyone else in the path of Hurricane Sandy?
by ShirleyW inso far here in nyc nothing but light rain and wind, i wish it would stay that way for the duration, but they say so far it's gonna hit hard.. .

We're across the river in New Jersey, and so far it's just raining with (mostly) light wind. But both do seem to be slowly increasing in intensity. We've hunkered in the house and have no intention of going anywhere till at least Wednesday.

Another Music Topic - Best of Album of the Last 12 months?
by cantleave infor me nothing comes close to muse's "the second law" - imo muse are up there with the greatest rock bands of all time and this album is near perfect.. .

Personally, I'll go with Bob Dylan's Tempest.
Speaking of music, I recently recorded a song that I wrote way back in the 70s. You can hear it at http://www.macjams.com/song/74898.
Nothing like a bit of self-promotion...

There is something that has always bothered me...
by braincleaned init always bothers me that the society boasts unity, as jehovah's witnesses don't have other branches and groups stemming from them, like the amish for example.
the wts is justified to brag unity of belief; to the point where the same program is taught in the whole world.. i blame those who leave and yet continue to believe in jehovah and jesus (i'm an atheist).
it seems a schism is above those who dissent from the org.

If you were an atheist who started to believe in God, would you form a group called "Atheist Believers in God"? Once you have seen that the WTS is wrong, why would you continue to follow their structure or identify with them, regardless of what direction your new beliefs led you in? Ex-JWs who become atheists tend to hang with other atheists, not set up a special breakaway branch of JW-ism for atheists. Ex-JWs who become orthodox (small o) Christians tend to join churches, not set up new groups as breakaways. Anyone who starts a breakaway group really hasn't broken away, in my opinion.
